It was not only a stay, it was an experience. The house is absolutely beautiful, you just want to be around and contemplate it. The dinner was really good, fresh and creative. Not a typical ryokan experience. The breakfast was also really fresh and well thought.

Nonagase Guest House was absolutely flawless. It had everything we needed and went far beyond our expectations. Hitomi and Lisa were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and considerate, and their service was truly among the best we have experienced in Japan. Dinner and breakfast were beautifully prepared, delicious, and served with so much care. The house itself was peaceful, clean, charming, and full of warmth. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of throughout our stay.

I love this property. It was located right at the end of day 2 on the Kumano Kudo. The bed was very comfortable and the staff wonderful. The dinner was excellent. The best that I had in Japan. This was not just traditional Japanese food. It was Japanese gourmet! The staff also helped us choose a doable hike for the next day. We took the bus to the recommended stop and had a very pleasant hike.
