2 min to Kiyomizu Tera 's Japanese house Sousekyu

The location was wonderful for what we wanted to see and do. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around to find things. The house itself was clean and updated. We appreciated having two bathrooms for our large group, as well as the fridge and freezer to utilize. The host was responsive and assisted with an issue regarding the A/C in one of the rooms. The area right next to the building was quiet and peaceful.

Light sleepers beware; there is minimal light filtering on the windows. Bring an eye mask if you are a light sleeper. The A/C in the west facing room upstairs took approximately 24 hours to cool below 80°F. Even after we cleaned the filter and confirmed that the temperature, blower speed, and cooling function were all similar to the other rooms. Also, if you are not accustomed to sleeping on futons, I would be hesitant to book this place. One couple decided to book another place after one night of sleep due to the minimal padding and how uncomfortable they were. Other guests had difficulty sleeping as well. Of note, one of the bedrooms listed is actually the dining area. Due to our large group he had to use it as a bedroom, which the host also instructed us to do, but this meant we did not have any common space to gather, aside from in someone's sleeping area.

Clean and well stocked with all the little random things like bin bags, washing powder and fresh sponges, not just the basics like shampoo and body wash. The layout made it very comfortable for a month long stay for my young family and extended family too. The little garden was very popular with my toddler. It is a beautiful well maintained machiya. Shops and restaurants at your doorstep, don't have to walk far at all to be in the action.

It is a really busy spot which is up the hill from family mart and fresco. It probably suits most people but you may need to fight a river of tourists to get to the closest convenience store.
