Hidden Gem by Ponte Vecchio with Private Terrace

Posizione fantastica, appartamento molto carino ma sarebbe necessario qualche lavoretto e una pulizia più accurata, soprattutto in cucina. Ci tornerei sicuramente perché la posizione è super!!!!

The location is phenomenal. A 2 minute walk to Ponte Vechio, the gateway to Old Florence and places like The Uffizi, the Duomo and a host of other sites. There is an exceptional GF cafe 1 minute away too. For a short stay of a night or two the apartment offers retro charm, a kooky layout and a couple of internal courtyard balconies for a cheeky morning espresso. The host meets you to give you the key which is a great opportunity to ask questions and get useful local knowledge. The facilities are in no way modern but the apartment feels lived in and functional. The lounge especially has a big, open feel in spite of the overall small footprint of the property. We were a family of four with 2 sleeping in the lounge and two in the large, comfortable bed up the ever so slightly challenging stairs. I'm tall but managed not to bang my head in spite of several opportunities. 6ft and under you should be fine although if you have mobility issues you may find the stairs and bathroom challenging. I loved the vibe for a short stay but might struggle to settle into cooking and sleeping well for longer stays.

Not an issue for me as I knew the location was very near shops/bars/cafes but there can be noise in the evenings but nothing i wouldn't expect in a city centre location. Scooters echo down the narrow streets and animated conversations from nearby establishments are audible. For me it adds to the charm but I can see how people who are not used to it may struggle. It is the price to pay for being able to step out of your door and in a way step back in time as you walk straight into the ancient city. The kitchen, like the bathroom is a little cramped if you are tall but I would relish the challenge of cooking a meal for a family in it! There are basic appliances which get the job done.

Great location, hist was helpful via messenger, it was great to find a place that was dog friendly, however, due to the cleanliness of the place we would not stay again.

Despite its great location, we were very disappointed with the apartment, as we entered we could immediately smell stale cigarette smoke, it was Very dusty and the kitchen and bathroom were particularly dirty. The little terrace from the bedroom had an ashtray on the table full of cigarette ends and when we went to have showers both before dinner and in the morning before departing there was no hot water. We did let the host know who offered to send someone to clean and check on the water, but we were only there one night and wanted to just enjoy our time there. The place needs a deep clean. The linen and towels were fresh and clean but the old feather pillows were very uncomfortable with feathers sticking through them. With the tax this place cost nearly 180€ for the night and it was not worth it.
