Soap and shower liquid sharing

Very convenient for the airport Bed was very comfortable and room was well appointed. Although I checked in late and there is a lock box I was still met at the door, which was nice

The bathroom needs updating- it’s a bit scruffy and I didn’t fancy having a shower, but fine for a quick one-night stay

Towels and other stuff provided was good quality.

One shared bathroom between 6-8 guests is poor. The room was relatively clean, however the refuse bin had not been emptied and other stuff from previous guests was still present in the room. At arrival time the host tried to convince me to move both my guests for the weekend to another property, as a mistake had been made with some form of double booking. There was no problem when I refused (as I had chosen this accommodation for the proximity to the venue of our event) but I feel the question should not have been asked. Both my guests complained abot the rooms being very cold, as the heating seemed to have been turned off overnight. This is most unacceptable and unsensitive towards people that may not come from an English environment and way of heating houses overnight in cold autumn or winter nights. Despite best efforts, to be appreciated, by the owner, this accommodation is nothing more than a not-very-generous-spaced family-home-turned-B&B. It does not really work with the number of guests it tries to accommodate.

I liked the fact we was so close to the air port

I didn't like the fact that the booking looks miss leading.. I was under the impression that we would be able to use all the house witch is shown in the pictures.. but your not able to as there is a family living down stairs.. witch made me feel uncomfortable the rooms are not clean either dirty sheets and a awfull smell that lingers around the house

Warm welcome and a warm room, plenty of storage. Clean and homely, host very helpful, carrying bags. Kitchen & bathroom both served there purpose. In a quiet area, no noise at all.

The location was my primary concern when booking this homestay. I actually live not far from Birmingham, and I chose this place because I had an early doctor’s appointment for my baby the following morning. This location allowed me to drive to Birmingham Children’s Hospital in less than 20 minutes during the morning rush hour, which was superb. The staff were lovely. The landlord has hired a manager to look after the property, and he was both helpful and friendly. It’s rare to find a homestay that provides toothbrushes, still water, tea, disposable razors, and exceptionally clean towels. I would say these thoughtful details are comparable to those of a four-star hotel.

To make my review authentic and fair, I do have a few complaints. This homestay has four rooms: Rooms 1, 2, and 3 are on the first floor, and Room 4 is on the ground floor. Officially, the homestay observes quiet hours between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. Everything seemed perfect before 11:00 pm, but things took a turn for the worse around midnight. In Room 4, there were three men and one woman, who appeared to be in their twenties or thirties. They started a party at around midnight and carried on until about 6:00 am! At first, I thought the noise was coming from my neighbours in Room 2 or 3. However, when I opened my door, my neighbours did the same — we looked at each other helplessly, as it was already 2:30 am. I then went downstairs to ask the group to keep the noise down. The young woman simply came out, smiled, and said “Good morning” — and that was it. They continued their party as if nothing had happened. I honestly do not think they came here to sleep; otherwise, I would be quite curious to know how three men and one woman managed to sleep in a single room. I understand that a homestay relies on the basic decency of its guests, and such behaviour can be hard to predict. However, I do not believe a single room should accommodate that many people. I suspect they might have invited extra friends in after midnight, once the manager had gone — which was both inconsiderate and irresponsible. I hope the landlord can enforce a stricter guest policy or a clearer quiet-hours rule — for example, asking guests to keep their noise level below that of a television volume 2 or 3. This experience was very disappointing, as I specifically booked a quiet room so that my baby could rest well before an early hospital appointment.
