ShakaBrah Beachfront Hostel

Really enjoyed my stay at Shakabrah Siargao! 💙 The place is simple, pero the best part about it, tahimik ang lugar, laid-back, and hindi masyadong maraming tao, so you can really enjoy the island at your own pace. Plus point kasi it’s a beachfront! You can literally just walk to the beach, go for a swim, sunbathe, or just chill while listening to the waves. Ang sarap lang mag-relax. Special shoutout to the staff—Loree yata ang name (sorry if I got it wrong 😅)—and to the owner as well. Super warm, friendly, and accommodating nila. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived, and you can really tell they care about their guests. The food and drinks were good too. Siguro one suggestion lang is to expand the menu a bit, especially by adding more rice meals for those looking for something more filling. 🥹👉👈 It would also be nice to see a few upgrades to the facilities to make the stay even better. Overall, I had such a great time here and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful beachfront stay in Siargao. Hope to be back soon! 🌴🤍

Pros: It has a private beach and the bed is comfortable with curtain. It serves the best black coffee I've ever had. If you order from their cafe, you can use the karaoke for free. The onwers and staff are so kind that you will feel welcomed there. Wifi is good that you can even work from here. There's free use of kitchen so I was able to cook my fave shrimp. You can also prepare your instant coffee and the mineral water is free. Cons: It's far from Gen Luna and about 8 min ride to Cloud 9 so you'd better rent a scooter if you stay here. I don't like the rusty smell of the water. Suggestions: Add laundry service or laundry area. More food options for Filipino guests as it's far from stores. Maybe add silog options incl instant coffee for 100 pesos. Pancit Canton with boiled egg for 60 pesos. Noodles with egg for 50 pesos. Or just sell raw eggs, noodles and canton so we can just cook it there ourselves with 20 pesos cooking fee. Considering it's a bit far from everything, better food options will make the guests' stay better. If the customers bring outside food and drinks, consider allowing it with minimum 50 peso corkage fee for solo guest, 100 for couple, 200 for 3-5 and 300 for more than 5 guests in a group. Great food will make every trip memorable so if you can't offer the food options guests crave for, then allow them to bring outside food and drinks with corkage fees. Overall, I love this place and would recommend it to my friends and hopefully bring my wife here someday.

The location is definitely one of the resort’s best features. It’s very accessible to the beach, and waking up to the beautiful sunrise each morning was truly special. The area is quite outside the center, few kilometers away from where the parties and action is but if you are like me who wants to have a quiet time and have peaceful relaxing stay in Siargao, then this is your place to be. That said, there are some areas that need improvement. The facilities are not very well maintained at the moment. There was no daily cleaning service during our stay — guests had to take the initiative to bring out the trash ourselves, and the bathroom was not cleaned daily. It seems that the receptionist is the only staff member managing multiple responsibilities, which may explain the lack of regular upkeep. The room and the resort itself have a lot of potential. With better maintenance and possibly additional cleaning staff, this place could offer a much better overall experience. I hope management invests more in upkeep because the location and overall concept are truly promising. All in all, I would still definitely come back here.
