The staff are tremendous- could not have been more kind or helpful. The hotel facilities including room service are good - the food is reasonably priced and satisfying. Free drinks and a small selection of snacks in the (standing) lobby area which can be taken back to your room. 15 minute walk from the local station - it’s then a several minute ride into and out of Matsumoto. Trains run frequently but get a timetable to avoid waiting as the trains are not as frequent as in met areas. What stood out for me was the kindness shown by the staff, particularly the Manager who took me around my room and explained how everything worked. He could not have been more helpful. It is a two storey building and the view from my room window to the mountains was lovely. To enter your room from the ground floor there is a flight of steps giving access to the first floor. There are shops, supermarkets and places to eat nearby, maybe a 10 minute walk, but nothing in terms of shops or restaurants on the doorstep. In that sense it is a quiet area. Come and go as you please and whilst out they clean your room if desired. I would visit again if in the area in the future.
