Castle Square Cottage - Beachside Retreat

Nice premises, great heating, walking distance to castle and all areas in The Mumbles

1) The accommodation wasn't cleaned prior to our arrival - beds were unmade, no clean sheets or laundry. The staff were unable to send a cleaner out the same day (probably not helped by a standard check in at 4pm), and their solution was to provide alternative accommodation 30min away. Difficult to communicate with the hosting staff, had to call and chase them up about the issue multiple times. Finally agreed to send out a cleaner the following day. 2) As advertised, parking was challenging - difficult to get a car park to unload close to the accommodation, but most free up later in the evening. Can't leave your car there either - max 1hr during 8am-6pm

Everything was spot on, really lovely and perfect for any family, neighbours were also brilliant.

Needed a frying pan to cook a stir frys if you were stay for longer then a few days, lovely everything

Not well cleaned. Sticky kitchen floor, with shard of glass - which my daughter trod on. Sticky hob. No washing up liquid. Pube on the side of the bath The guide meds updating - 2 of the 3 suggested places for breakfast are permanently closed (one 3 years ago!), promise of biscuits and also promise of better instructions at the back of the instructions folder - neither apparent. Bin overflowing and fly infested.

The property was perfect, and lived up to the advertised images, was perfectly presented inside. Likewise, location was perfect.

The main complaint, is the agent "Stayright" , they were, in my opinion unprofessional to the point to negligent, and from a daily practical point of view useless to the me the customer. Firstly, after taking my money, without any rational basis or due process, questioned the validity of my provided I.D. , delayed approving it, causing delay and inconvenience, and ansgst ... and (again, after taking my money), forced me to answer questions as to my motivation for choosing the property (baseless, and irrational) If they hadnt already taken money i wouldve cancelled the booking on principle. Secondly, 'stayright' were totally useless once the property was booked and I was in there .... every question i asked was evaded or brushed off repeatedly, they took no responsibility or commitment to help (example, i repeatedly asked about an early check-in , with stated reasons... i simply wanted a definitive straight answer, but they evaded commitment. Even simple questions, e.g.about whether the gas-fire was operational (as advertised) they evaded ... USELESS. Other complaints, the advertising about parking is NOT ENTIRELY HONEST ... on street parking is basically impossible, stayright are more honest about this (after they take your money!), but fail to offer any details/location/conditions of nearby public parking. (again, the complaint is about lack of care, lack of useful info and full transparency, not the facility itself). Another thing, the front and back yards were a mess, the front not so important but bad image ... the back yard however would be COMPLETELY UNUSABLE, mountains of rotton leaves, upturned furniture, and piles of fresh garbage sacks presumably left by previous occupant (a complete dump. unacceptable), i assume 'stayright' staff jsut assume because it's winter time the back yard would not be used, but that is not a safe assumption and is not the point.

The cottage is cosy and clean, and perfectly located for a stay in Mumbles - the castle is a 2 minute walk and the beach is a 5 minute walk. The hosts keep the house well equipped and we had everything we needed.

There was nothing that impacted our stay negatively.
