Hampshire Cottage is a fully furnished charming 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage with a king bed, full kitchen, pull out sofa, and porch swing. Located in the Ivy neighborhood nearby upscale restaurants, art galleries, and nurseries, this cottage offers a peaceful home base for Charlottesville visitors.
Positioned as the sixth cottage from the entrance, Hampshire is one of the largest and most airy cottages on the property. Painted in calming clear blues with soaring ceilings, it evokes a refreshing breeze off the English Channel. Inspired by England's seafaring history, this cottage blends nautical charm with modern comfort. The king bedroom features two full-sized closets and a large Smart TV—perfect for relaxing evenings in bed. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a rear porch with a porch swing and bistro set, ideal for enjoying peaceful mornings or evenings outdoors. The tranquil blues and nautical decor create a restful atmosphere designed for rejuvenation. Up to 1 dog is allowed for a $75 pet fee per dog. Prior approval is required from Guesthouses.

While this exciting work is underway, construction is taking place on the main house and select common areas. The cottages currently available for rent are fully completed and offer private, comfortable, and updated spaces for your stay. During daytime hours, you may notice some construction activity on the property, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to enhance this special setting for future guests.
A booking and confirmation agreement will also be sent via text to review and sign upon booking.

We went up to Charlottesville to enjoy the leaves and sip some wine. The cottage was ideal for us. I would return.

We stayed for two nights, after Labor Day, in the Hampshire cottage with our dog. The unit is charming and extremely clean (occasional tiny ants in kitchen) and comfortable. The upcycled furnishings are perfect for the space. It has all utensils needed. The cooktop is gas which is nice. King bed is extremely comfortable.
The property contains several other cottages and many of the cottages and the main building are under renovation but I can see the potential and look forward to seeing it completed. The construction was stopped while we were here but there is equipment around. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay while sightseeing during the day it’s great. Monticello is approximately 20 min away. Don’t miss Michie Tavern for lunch.
Our dog was comfortable with the small backyard, she’s older and doesn’t need much room. If your pet requires more exercise there are public parks you can drive to.

My husband and I (and our four legged friend) stayed in the Hampshire cottage for my husband to receive medical treatment at the `UVA medical center. The cottage was awesome, very clean and the location made trips to the hospital very easy. Since there is construction taking place we looking forward to seeing the final outcome!!
