Heron Cottage, Seatown - Stone's throw from beach

The cosy little cottage was clean, well equipped and exceeded our expectations. Little garden and summer house are lovely.Proximity to the town and beach is perfect. We booked it last minute and so pleased we did. We were wanting to relax and that’s exactly what we did.

The cottage is comfortable, and provided with all that we needed.

It was hard to find the cottage, it is not called Seatown cottage. Also the television set is difficult to use, so a manual would be helpful. Remote control was vey poorly labelled.

The location of the cottage is excellent, with beach, woods and shops being just a few minutes walk away. For dog walkers it's situation is great. It is incredibly quiet since there is virtually no footfall past the cottage and Seatown itself is made up of old fisherman's cottages. Across a wee lane is a secure garden, ideal for the dogs as well as a lovely summer house with comfy sofa and deck with table and chairs.

Parking is not ideal if, like us, you have a car jam packed with 2 dogs plus all their bits and pieces as well as our own clothes, food etc. You need to cross a road (though not very busy) then down steps to a lane leading to the cottage. A small grumble about storage facilities: there are half a dozen coat hangers in the bedroom, but no drawers so basically we had to live out of suitcases on the floor. I appreciate the cottage is tiny but feel the decor, though lovely, has put style before practicality!
