Hells Kitchen Hideaway

This is a wonderful place to stay for someone like us in our 20’s, no kids, & a jam packed schedule that needed a comfortable place to sleep, eat, and shower! The host is kind and attentive we had asked if we could store our luggage before check-in and even though it wasn’t possible because there was a booking the day before us, they provided us some alternate solutions. Our check in time had originally been set for about 6pm but they managed to turn the room around 3hrs early! Loved the location, no more than 10 minutes from Wicked & LilShopHorrors by foot. There’s a subway station about 5mins. by foot on the corner of 50th and 8th ave. and Penn station is a 6 minute ride or if you packed lightly the walk is only about 20mins in total to Penn. The room was incredibly spacious for NYC and they even provided an extra little fold out futon if you wanted to sleep separately. The host had extra towels and linens in a very spacious closet with extra hangers, if you wish to hang up clothes. There was shampoo and body wash provided in case you forgot to bring them and they offered some hair tools like a hairdryer + diffuser and maybe a flat iron or a curler. There was a small dining area and even though we didn’t use it there was a stove, dishes, and condiments in the cupboard. We booked about 6 months in advance and compared values between multiple locations and this was by far the best deal in virtually all of NYC. There were a lot of really great food options, including a GF pasta restaurant across the street and a great brunch place called UT 47 that specialized in eggs Benedict which we didn’t realize until we sat down to eat. We contemplated leaving because we weren’t big fans of poached eggs but we were sure glad we stayed. The food was absolutely delicious and the cortado with a touch of maple was just perfect. My cousin got a dirty chai and if you’ve ever had Mexican atole, that’s exactly what it reminded me of.

The only downside is that you are staying on a busy street so if you’re a light sleeper like my cousin do not torture yourself and just take the melatonin! I on the other hand, easily passed out within minutes, exhausted from our busy schedule and despite the ambulances and honking wars outside. Also a heads up if you’re staying long or have heavy luggage, there is no elevator just some very steep, thin, old, precarious looking steps going to the room, but no more that 2 or 3 flights to the 3rd room. This is not the ritz! If you typically have a nasty attitude towards anything less than 6 stars level out your expectations, it’s NYC, it’s noisy, there will be trash on the curbs and maybe one or two rats but for having stayed in a high end 2x2 box before at the Paramount, this is leagues better just to have your own space.

Appartement sympa et fonctionnel en plein cœur de New York. Il y a tout ce qui fait pour se sentir chez soi. A 5 min à pied de Time Square. Pleins de restos et de supermarchés aux alentours. Chouette quartier avec bonne ambiance.

Lo que me gustó del apartamento fue la ubicación y que las camas eran cómodas .

En primer lugar , el acceso al apartamento está en muy mal estado. La escalera deja mucho que desear. En segundo lugar cuando entramos habían dejado parte de la habitación principal sin barrer . El aire acondicionado muy ruidoso y solo funcionaba el de la habitación principal .
