I was walking a section of the fishermans trail, so I arrived in Salema having walked from praia da luz. Casa dos amigos is another 45 mins walk from Salema up hill ( initially ) so a little more isolated but that brings a few pluses, its relatively quiet, and offers good views of the surrounding landscape. There's also a large supermarket open 7 days a week within walking distance ( 30 mins by foot away ) I and the other guests were impressed with how well the kitchen was equipped, the place was generally really comfortable and clean. It's a plus having a pool. I found the host's Marco and Giulia very pleasant and welcoming.
The wifi was a little iffy the first day although it did behave the following Day.

A bright, beautiful home, very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the shared spaces and felt very much welcome and at home.
