Gîte "Smart'In"

OMG. What a fabulous time we had. The apartment was perfect. Well supplied in the kitchen. AC in the bedroom with also 2 fabulous fans. 2 bathrooms. Lots of room for a couple. But best of all it is located in the heart of the most fairytale village. Local parking was easy. Martine the owner was available and helpful.

Nothing. Loved it all. Feel very blessed to stay there.

La localisation est top, au calme mais en plein centre. L'appartement est très agréable et dispose d'un ascenseur (pratique pour les bagages). Le logement est grand, très propre, bien équipé on pourrait y rester plusieurs semaines... Les lits sont confortables, clim d'appoint dans la chambre et ventilateurs efficaces dans la pièce de vie.

Obligé de laisser la fenêtre ouverte pour la clim, ce qui fait finalement entrer beaucoup de chaleur.

Located in the historic heart of Eguisheim, the location is quiet as there is minimal car traffic. You can easily visit the tourist spots on foot from the apartment. The town is popular with day tourists but is quiet during the night. The apartment is set in a historic building but it is comfortable and modern inside. It was spotlessly clean. The living area is spacious for 2 people and has 2 toilets, one on each floor. The owner contacted us through booking.com to check if all was well.

Parking is not allowed in the historic part of the town. So, you can drop off your suitcases at the accommodation but must proceed immediately to park the car in designated parking zones about 5 mins walk away (the owner provides 5 euros per day for this cost). It is a minor inconvenience but on the first day we had trouble finding a spot as it was a public holiday and "tout le monde" was in Eguisheim. But we noticed that things get better after 3pm when the lunchtime crowd leaves. Apartment would not suit low mobility guests due to spiral staircase leading to the bedroom upstairs. Leaning ceiling in the bedroom in the attic can lead to potential head-bumps. The apartment had been well-serviced as far as cleanliness was concerned but was painfully low on kitchen supplies like coffee and dishwashing detergent. But these are minor blemishes.

You couldn’t ask for a better location in Eguisheim! Right in the middle of everything. The turbo fan kept the whole downstairs nice and cool while the temperatures rose outside.
