Sayed Effendi - Boutique Hotel

For me it was all about the treatment we got . staff is absolutely amazing very polite .

The cleanliness and service are excellent, and the staff are excellent and friendly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were exactly as the pictures. The building is old, but the hotel and rooms were all fully renovated. The breakfast was good. It was mainly Egyptian (Middle Eastern) food which we found nice. The manager at the restaurant (If I remember his name correctly was Mr. Faheem), was very friendly and recommended their Turkish coffee after our breakfast. The ambience at the restaurant whether in the morning or in the evening is very nice and cozy. Another thing which added to the beautify of the hotel is the antiquities in it. They take you back in time. The overall experience was very good, and certainly exceeded our expectations. Prior to booking with Sayed Effendi, we did an extensive search of similar hotels in the area and even booked in another hotel, but after reading the comments, there were many guests who had negative experiences there. But for Sayed Effendi, almost all comments were good, and we hereby affirm those as well. As we checked out, there was one last gesture from them as they gave us a farewell postcard. It was quite touching. Thank you team for your excellent service and warm welcome.

When we checked in, the door of one of the rooms was broken and could not be closed. We waited initially in the second room while they tried to fix it. Eventually they were convinced it would take more time, so they provided us another room. They said it was an upgrade, the only difference was some extra space in the room. Unfortunately the room was in a different floor, but since there was no other alternative, it was ok. I was surprised that such a damage to the door was not reported or checked before our arrival even though I had informed them that we were on the way to them as we left the airport.

Their team was very attentive and available to help. Location wasn’t so bad, good communication in the city.

Cleanliness in the room and toilet can definitely be improved. Room is extremely noisy at night, you can hear all the cars in the streets… I couldn’t sleep as I have light sleep. And breakfast has very few options of European breakfast, which can be complicated as culturally we have big cultural cuisine gap.
