The owner had great communication with us since booking the place. We discussed being able to drop off our bags before checking in, as our train was much earlier than the check-in time. The room was spacious and clean, and I honestly believe the place needs new pictures because my partner and I were expecting something less appealing, but as we opened the door to the room, we were like, "Ooooo," and were pleasantly surprised.
The kitchenette with a microwave, fridge and cutlery was a plus, as it offered us some freedom to make use of ASDA and other shops just 2 mins over the road (saved us money on takeaways). On top of this, the room was stocked with a kettle, sugar, tea and instant coffee and pods - yes pods which made for great starts to our days --- ooo and some biscuits.
Honestly, if we find our way back to Carlisle, we will definitely book again!
It was a colder room, but I assume I can blame the weather for this, to be honest, as it rained throughout our stay! The small heater could be bigger, I suppose, but we survived under the blankets. For people who may stay longer than 2 nights.. could be worth a subwoofer or better speakers, as the TV sounded static and cranky even at mid volumes. All depends on budget of course. Best of luck guys!!

Close to the area I wanted to be. Would stay again and the check in was easy too.
The room we stayed is a step down into the bathroom, which can be a hazard to some, but we managed ok.
For privacy, having stained window glass film on the bottom half of the bathroom windows would be ideal, as if you stand on the sink the neighbours' back windows are visible. The film doesn't have to cover the whole window, just have and the stained one still allow light in, but the bottom half should be obscured for privacy.

For a one night stay to enjoy a night in Carlisle, it was brilliant. Comfy bed, great shower and very clean. There are also shared basic kitchen facilities if needed which we didn't use. We were happy with the kettle in our room for a cup of tea in the morning.
The only thing I would say is maybe install privacy glass or even stick on privacy screen to the bathroom window
