A classic Swiss free-standing chalet, comfortable and tastefully decorated and located on the Terrassenweg, one of the sunniest areas of Grindelwald. It has uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains and the glacier gorge.

Split between three floors, you enter Chalet Luftschloss on the middle floor. It has an open plan and features a fireplace, dining tabl, flat screen TV and cozy sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities including microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster, Nespresso machine and Fondue-set. This floor also features a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

This place did not disappoint. The views are identical to the listing. The chalet is cozy and we felt right at home. We took advantage of the fondue sets and made an amazing dinner at home away from the crowded restaurants. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept great. I hope my family can return in the future!

The chalet fully met our needs of our grown children and their spouses including our 7 month old granddaughter. We generally used the buses to get up and down to Grindelwald center which came hourly. The walk is invigorating but doable. The views from the balcony, living room and bedrooms were amazing peaking into the heart of the Bernese Alps. Since some of us had been to Grindelwald before it was nice to discover a new “neighborhood” that allowed us easily to explore the area over a week. Good communication throughout the booking and preparation process helped out planning. Very well done from top to bottom.

Cant fault it. Excellent apartment with all what you need for your holiday. Stunning views from the balcony. Check-in and check-out were easy and Diarmuid was very helpful. Will absolutely be my first choice in Grindelwald.

The chalet is very nice and spacious, and is located in a quiet part of Grindelwald. You are away from the busy main street, yet it is just a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk. The views from the chalet are amazing, and the chalet is well equipped with everything a large family needs. This is the second time I deal with the property manager (Diarmuid), and I am happy with how he deals with his tenants. He is professional and he responds quickly to any questions or needs we have. He makes check in and check out a seamless process, and we received our deposit promptly.

Lovely stay for a family of 6 adults and 2 kids. Having 3 baths for each of the couples was definitely good. Washer and dryer in unit was a plus. The scenery from the living room / balcony is breath taking and the walk around the neighborhood is gorgeous. We did see llamas every day from the front of the chalet which was such a nice touch! Only drawback to the chalet is the location since it’s slightly out of the way from the city. It’s about a 20m bus ride from the Grindlewald train station. We were fine with this since it worked for us to be away from the crowds and the peace and serenity of the surrounding natural beauty was worth it, but did add to the commute when sight seeing. The bus also only runs once every hour. Bathroom in the basement is dimly lit so that was ever so slightly inconvenient during showers. Chalet is nicely furnished with kitchen supplies as well but no oil/ butter / coffee / tea, etc. There is a grocery store next to train station for every day groceries. No A/c but fans supplied in every room; no issues with the chalet. Diarmuid and his wife were excellent to communicate with and Diarmuid provided a lot of helpful suggestions / tips for our 3 day stay in Grindelwald. Thank you!

Our recent stay at Luftschloss in Grindelwald was wonderful! The location is great and the house very comfortable and well supplied. Our party of 4 adults and 3 children had plenty of room and and having 3 bathrooms was great! Our host could not have been more helpful and. when I had questions he relied promptly. I have NO reservations about highly recommending this property if you are planning a trip to this area .

We are a family of four who stayed in Grindelwald for 6 nights. We had a wonderful stay in this charming chalet. The chalet was well stocked, quiet and comfortable. The view from the main floor and deck is spectacular! There is a glacier right in front of you. Diarmuid met us upon arrival and gave us an orientation to the area and many wonderful suggestions for things to do. We spent a day going to Jungfrau. It is truly an amazing experience. It is very expensive, but per Diarmuid's recommendation, we purchased a Jungfrau pass which allowed us to ride the trains and cable cars on other days as well. We had a great pizza dinner at Onkel Tom's and another great dinner at C und M. We highly recommend both places. Just a short walk from the chalet is a wonderful place, Cafe 3692, that is open for breakfast and lunch during the week, and dinner on weekends. We did 2 great hikes with beautiful views of the glaciers. We took a day trip to Bern, which was about an hour away and well worth a visit. Another great day trip is visiting Aare Gorge and the Giessbach Hotel and falls. Lunch on the terrace at the hotel is so scenic. The lake it overlooks is a beautiful blue. You can also walk along and behind the waterfall. We will always treasure our memories of this special chalet and hope to return again someday.

View awesome. Very close to bus stops. Owner is very nice and spent time with us suggesting some changes to our week long itinerary. Newer, clean bathrooms. Loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings. Walk back from town is quite steep with groceries in hand. Be sure to use bus system and understand schedule or have car. Beds comfortable. Minor issue that House would get a bit warm in Late June but there were plenty of new fans. Overall it was one of our best vacations ever! Already want to go back!

The accommodation was pleasant and the house was clean and integrated in all respects and the owner of the house reported many of the favorite suggestions for tourism in the area so I would highly recommend staying there again

The house is gorgeous, comfortable and well laid out, with stunning views from the deck. We loved walking into town for morning coffee and Grindewald is convenient to absolutely everything - hiking, biking, paragliding, mountain carting, zip lining or just beautiful sightseeing by train, tram or gondola. Perfect for my husband and me, as well as our teenage children. We will definitely be back!

This is really a home and not just a rental. It's large, beautiful, and has an Amazing view! We sat on the front porch every evening watching the sunset change the mountain colors. The mountains are actually closer than they appear in some of the photos. The home is very comfortable, great beds, large living/dining area, kitchen very well equipped. We had 8 people and were very comfortable. The children loved playing with the blocks and outside in the small yard area. There are llamas just up the hill behind the house. We had cars and drove down into the "downtown" easily, parking in the lot by the Tourist information and Coop grocery. Lots of beautiful hiking from the lifts. We had the regional Jungfrau passes and put them to good use, I would recommend them. The manager was very helpful and there is a very complete guidebook in the house for hiking, dining and excursions in the area. This is a lovely home, we would absolutely rent it again!
