Great location it’s basically the closest guest house style hotel to the lifts. Short walk over the bridge each morning is worth it for the cost savings from the prince. Gear hire is so cheap roughly a third of the resort shop and decent quality

久しぶりの一人旅、しかもスキー場の宿など 不安がありましたが、清潔な和室で布団で 久しぶりにゆっくり眠れました。昭和生まれ には懐かしくて良かったです。

特にありませんでした。

The hotel staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The food is decent, and the accommodation is close to the ski slope. And the nightly rate is quite reasonable if you book in advance — not too expensive at all. The nabe at dinner on the first night was delicious and all-you-can-eat.

As for the drawbacks, I would like to list them as follows: 1. Although the hotel is close enough to walk to the ski slope, which is convenient if you ship your equipment to the hotel, it is a different story if you have to carry your ski gear yourself. The distance is technically close, but not quite close enough — and walking through the snow while carrying heavy equipment for nearly a kilometer is not enjoyable. It would be excellent if there were a shuttle service available, even as a paid option. 2. There were quite a lot of stink bugs (カメムシ) in the hotel. In our room alone, there were no fewer than six. When we asked the staff, we were told this is normal because the insects are attracted to warm places, especially in winter and since the hotel is near the forest. Personally, I do not think any insects should be present in a guest room, regardless of the reason. Explaining it as “normal” is not very reassuring. If this is indeed unavoidable, it would be better to inform guests clearly in advance (for example, before check-in or on the hotel’s website), similar to how some hotels clearly state their pet policies. In my view, the hotel’s handling of this issue could be improved. 3. The room is listed as accommodating up to five people (recommended for four), but in reality, only three futons can be laid out properly. The fourth has to overlap due to limited space. Perhaps using slightly smaller futons could help resolve this issue. Guests may not expect a very spacious room, but they do expect the room capacity to match what is advertised.
