About this house rental

Geneviève & Christian welcome you to an elegant Burgundian building full of character and history dating from 1920 (former "girls' school"), nestled in a quiet spot on the edge of a small alleyway lined with historic dry stone walls, in the very heart of the picturesque village of Anzy-le-Duc, full of charm and perfectly preserved (rich in beautiful restored traditional residences), renowned for its sumptuous listed Romanesque church from the 11th century (one of the most marvelous in Burgundy, standing just a stone's throw from the gîte) and its magnificent 12th century Priory. Total tranquility, in the heart of the gentle, unspoiled Brionnais countryside, nestled in the hollow of the bucolic hilly bocage not far from a vast national forest like the banks of the Loire, a natural site protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" for the quality of its rich ecosystems (migration, reproduction & nesting axis for many species including some very rare / fish, amphibians, mammals, birds ...). Spacious cottage with very good comfort. Beautiful volumes. Warm "bourgeois" country character, opulent & refined, combining "vintage" spirit & contemporary touches. Pleasant colorful "pop" atmosphere, dialoguing with the exotic soul of the place (stone lintels & original parquet floors). Lots of charm. Cozy & cozy. Vast "intimate" enclosed flowered courtyard with a majestic lime tree (appreciated natural shade on the terrace side in summer). Barn housing a ping-pong table and foosball table with direct access. Composition: Detached house next to the owners' house (complete independence). Wi-Fi. Electric heating + wood-burning stove. Single-story gîte (ground floor): kitchen, living room (double sofa bed 140x190cm as an extra), 2 bedrooms (double bed 160x200cm / 2 single beds 90x190cm) with private bathrooms (bathtub/WC), separate WC. Enclosed courtyard + courtyard terrace (gravel) + bicycle storage + private parking. Foosball and ping-pong table in the barn adjoining the gîte. Shops and supermarkets 6.5 km away. Elegant character building steeped in history dating from 1920, completely renovated into a very comfortable holiday home, nestled in the peace and quiet of the picturesque, charming and perfectly preserved village of Anzy-le-Duc (renowned for its sumptuous listed Romanesque church from the 11th century) & 6.5 km from the charming medieval market town of Marcigny, a "Cluniac site" particularly known for its Monday morning market created in 1266 (very numerous amenities on site including supermarkets). Magnificent landscaped setting surroundings mixing agriculture and nature, nestled in the unspoiled Brionnaise countryside, in the heart of the bucolic local hilly bocage, in the hollow of the verdant Arconce valley, very close to the banks of the Loire (the last wild river in Europe protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its very rich ecosystems) bordered by the "quiet canal" connecting Roanne to Digoin. Ultra-privileged location on the routes of the Romanesque churches circuit, a marked "green walk" hiking trail (vast network of similar hiking trails to explore in the area, on foot or by mountain bike), a marked mountain bike route labeled "VTT-FFC" (attached to a vast network of similar routes crisscrossing the area) & the passage of the "Cycloroute71" (tour of the Saône-et-Loire by bike), 3 km from the "Véloire" Green Route (along the banks of the Loire), 20 km from the Canal du Centre Green Route (connected to EuroVélo6 as well as to the "Tour de Bourgogne à vélo"), around thirty km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Roannaises, around fifty km from the Beaujolais vineyards (first vineyard in the world recognized as a "UNESCO Global Geopark") & around sixty km from the Côtes Maconnaises ("Route of Burgundy Wines" & various Beaujolais Wine Routes to explore). In the heart of the sublime territory of Charolais-Brionnais (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), a land of ultra-renowned breeding & traditions, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of Sologne & Montagne Bourbonnaise and the Roannais region, not far from Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais. Privileged location to reach several departments (at the crossroads of Allier, Loire & Rhône): 10 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais with the very rare label "Most Beautiful Villages of France", 12 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Livestock Market" dating from the end of the 15th century (one of the oldest in France, a literal spectacle dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 20 km from Paray-le-Monial, 21 km from Digoin (river marina linked to the famous Canal du Centre), 23 km from Charolles, 24 km from La Clayette, 28 km from the characterful town of Charlieu (exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 36 km from Roanne & 49 km from the very famous PAL amusement park. An inspiring "refuge" exuding the art of living & serenity!
