Franschhoek Gem on Van Wijk

The house itself was well-equipped, spacious, and comfortable in many other respects. The facilities were great, and the location was excellent, being very close to the main road, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property.

Overall, we had a mixed experience with this property. The check-in process was not particularly welcoming or informative. As visitors who were still new to South Africa and some of the local systems, including the electronic equipment's, we would have appreciated a little more patience and guidance. The biggest disappointment was that two of the three bedrooms did not have any heating or electric blankets. Considering it was winter, this created a significant challenge for our group and made the nights quite uncomfortable. We were also reminded to be careful with electricity usage because of the high cost of power, which made us even more cautious about using the available heating. In summary, if you are visiting during mild weather and are not concerned about staying warm in winter or cool in summer, this property offers a great location and good facilities. However, those traveling during colder months should be aware of the limited heating options in some of the rooms.

We had ricoffee in the kitchen but no milk. Had to buy my own. One dustbin for the whole rental unit located in the kitchen? Light switches not working and had to sleep with light on. Owner not welcoming you and advising of what to find in Fransnhoek???? On last day we had knock on front door and cleaning ladies were sent in - how unprofessional not to wait whilst we vacate first. No question asked on how stay was or if we will visit again??? Beautiful place but definitely need a professional to attend to guests

Something wrong with light switched and no aircon nor fans in the unit??? One dustbin?????
