Cozy Apartment by Kristína

This is a striking pink post-war block north of the city centre, about a 15-minute tram ride away. Being on a busy main road, there are buses and trams to the city centre and to the main train station. There are grocery shops nearby too. It is a well-ventilated ground floor studio flat, good sized for two people. The AC works well in the summer too. The kitchen is fairly well-equipped for cooking dinners and making breakfasts. The shower has good water pressure. The queen/double sized bed is really comfortable, and firm and felt new. I loved the separate duvets which I know is common in this part of Europe. It just makes sharing a bed more comfortable!

I had an inkling that a flat on a busy main road would be noisy and this was the case, even though the apartment is at the back of the block. We had to have the windows closed most of the time as the traffic was endless. The shower would benefit from a deeper tray as if you turn the shower on full blast, the tray immediately floods the floor. While the kitchen had good cooking and modern equipment, I think the apartment would benefit by making available a few other essentials such as shower gel, shampoo, a mop, some basic cleaning products (food spills are inevitable!) and laundry detergent. A good modern washing machine is in the apartment but we had to go and buy a bottle of detergent to do one load of laundry. The numerous locking and unlocking of the shared hallway door and the two doors to the apartment itself was a little frustrating and did make me wonder what would happen if you needed to exit rapidly in case of a fire/emergency.

The furniture and decoration were really comfortable and lovely, simple but stylish. Perfect ambiance for a few days of peaceful stay! The ironing machine and extra coffee were really a plus! :)

One thing was missing, the water was splashing all over in the bathroom when taking a shower and I could have really used a mop for the excess water, because the tiny towel on floor was not really enough.

The flat was spacious and had a lovely minimalistic design. Great location!

There were a lot of doors and keys to get in and out of building that was a bit tricky if you’re in a rush.

The apartments are just perfect. Very clean and stylish, everything you need for living. Host is very kind and helpful.
