Alýria Sea Side Suites

Dimitris our host was absolutely lovely and most hospitable host I have ever come across - all check-in information was clearly communicated and he was very attentive throughout our stay and also kindly accommodated a late check-out, which allowed us to fully enjoy our time in Agios Nikolaos. He also left so many complimentary goods from Zakynthos in our room - lots of water, juice, a bottle of wine and delicious candied nuts, nougat and orange cake! The property was spacious, beautifully decorated, comfortable, well-equipped in many ways and our favourite spot was the large balcony with the sea view. Parking available and AC for both the living room and bedroom. The location was beautiful, quiet and peaceful, which we absolutely loved, and Madriakis beach was a short 5 min walk away from the property. Lots of restaurants around and a mini supermarket and cafe in close vicinity. Also some boat tours nearby a short walk away.

Our host dear Dimitris was incredibly thoughtful. Before we arrived, he took the time to visit the tourist office to get ferry schedules and kept us updated. He is such a kind person; he even waited up late at night to give us a lovely gift before the last day of our stay. The accommodation is beautiful, bright, and fresh; a brand-new flat. Our room was split-level (two floors) with a huge terrace with sunbeds and comfortable sofas offering a gorgeous view of the marina. Air-conditioning is also very good, in terms of how they are located and their power to cool the entire flat. Since we traveled by ferry, we were pleasantly surprised and happy to find the property located right behind the port. For anyone using the ferry, the location is absolutely amazing. Despite being next to the port, the area is exceptionally quiet and peaceful (there are only two ferry trips a day, and we were at the beach during the hours of the trips, so you don't hear any busy port noise). Convenience is top-notch. Right downstairs, you can find a supermarket, a pharmacy, and coffee shops, with great breakfast restaurants just a short walk away. The rooms are modernly furnished, and all amenities/consumables were brand new and sealed. The decoration, the space, and the cleanliness were all flawless. 10/10!

Wonderful apartments, wonderful location, wonderful host.

This place is 9.99/10- amazing property and amazing hosts; highly recommended! The level of detail in this feedback is really to repay the level of detail paid to us by the host- thanks again Dimitris! These are waterfront apartments with unobstructed views of the harbour and Ag Nikolaos island. The town is small- maybe 15-20 shopfronts- but everything you need is nearby: supermarket, restaurants, ATM, coffee shops, gelato stores and even a cocktail bar. The area is moderately busy during the day with the comings and goings of tourists taking boats to the blue caves and Navagio (and the ferry to Cefalonia), but it is very quiet and peaceful at night and parking is plentiful. As a bonus, there is beautiful little beach (Madraki Beach; brilliant clear blue water with small rounded white pebbles) only 100m as the crow flies from the apartment- we visited this gem most days and it was a favourite! The property itself is stunning: private and spacious outdoor space with sun beds and chairs and an unobstructed view of the harbour and island. The interior is clean, spacious, open and bright thanks to the floor to ceiling glazed doors (with heavy curtains if you want to sleep in). It is comfortable with good air conditioning, nice bathroom with great shower pressure, a working kitchenette (we successfully made dinner one night), a comfortable bed and reliable wifi. The hosts exceeded the high quality of the property- Dimitris and Konstantinos were extremely helpful, warm, responsive and exceedingly generous. Overall, this is a great property and we really enjoyed our stay- thank you!

Travelling as a family (2 adults, 2 kids aged 9 & 11) staying 4 nights, the lack of storage (wardrobe/drawers) and very limited benchspace (kitchen & bathroom) meant that we were largely living out of suitcases on the floor even though hanging space (with hangers) was available, so the space became cluttered pretty quickly. However, the hosts really went the extra mile- this property doesn’t commonly cater to families and yet they prepared an extra futon mattress (with added mattress toppers!) to cater for us, and I think this issue is largely a function of our circumstances. Be aware of a few things though- and while these issues didn’t cause us issues, it might be a problem for some: - There are a lot of stairs. Getting in and out of the apartment, as well as getting up to the bedroom/loft involves flights of stairs. - Getting to Agios Nikolaos involves navigating small, winding and occasionally cliffside roads but vans and buses do it daily, so it’s definitely doable - Agios Nikolaos is a small community in the far north of Zakynthos. It doesn’t have much of a nightlife (although the tavernas are open and there is a cocktail bar) and it’s fairly far from nightlife via narrow cliffside roads. We used this as our base to explore most parts of the island (Zante town, Gerakas, Laganas, Limnios/Roxa and Navagio/blue caves), and most of those places are around 45 minutes away (Navagio 15 mins less, Gerakas 15 mins more). We actually loved exploring the island by car and then returning to our quiet seaside escape with all the conveniences by evening- it worked well for us, but if nightlife is the goal, there are likely to be far better options.
