This property sums up everything one may wish for in Darjeeling.
The views- imagine waking up and seeing Kanchenjunga staring back at you through the windows from your bed while you sip locally grown beautifully brewed tea. Enough said.
The rooms- it felt like living in a museum. 200+ year-old furniture, curios in every small corner that you find something new every single day, even after five nights of stay. We found a walking stick hiding rather sinister looking dagger.
The food- the Cook was trained by the Queen herself for 30 years. She made the best pork momos I ever tasted. All vegetables were locally grown, and tasted of the Himalayas.
The staff were handpicked by the queen herself, trained for decades, and were the nicest people. I seriously felt that we locked out on every front.
Everything about the place smelled off a quiet dignity.
