Porta Romana Terrace

Clean nice and tidy, perfect for a couple and the terraces are a very nice bonus

This was a great base for exploring stunning Milan with links to the Metro, Trams etc. close by or an easy walk to the Doumo area. The apartment was comfortable and the terrace is perfect for enjoying breakfast with a view of the city. Porta Romana is a great place to spend some time.

Lack of WiFi

The apartment is sunny and gets good ventilation. The spacious balcony is a nice extra. It is in a good location, with many places being reachable by public transportation or on foot.

In 2026, it is quite unfamiliar to me to rent out a space without wifi. Nowadays, with SIM card routers, it is such an easy solution that the host could have used. I had to work in the apartment for a few hours of the day, and it was quite a hassle without internet. Another aspect of the house is the shower; it was quite uncomfortable to use. There is no support for the hose and no shower curtain or door to block the water from splashing all over the bathroom. For someone of advanced age or with knee problems, this can be quite challenging, since you have to squat to avoid getting the water all over the place. In the kitchen, washing the dishes was also difficult since there was no dish rack to let them dry, so I had to wash each item individually, dry it with the towel, and proceed to the next one. The mattress was quite uncomfortable, with a dent in the middle, and it was possible to feel the bed springs. Overall, the experience would jump from 6 to 10 with just a few cheap but very needed quick-fix solutions.
