Grand Casa annexe

I liked the location, not too far from the mall road, walkable distance and very peaceful, got the clear view of kanchenjunga right from my room. Comfortable stay. The owners and caretaker were kind and helpful to us in every step. The food was very tasty and warm, I loved every bit of it. They also guide you to places which are not-so-touristy place and i absolutely recommend you to ask them before heading out.

The owners of this property, Keviv, and Jeson, went above and beyond my expectations to make us feel at home on our (1-adult/2-kids) first ever visit to Darjeeling & Sikkim over a 10 day period (late Jan, 2026). Keviv also is a co-owner of another family property called "Fraternity Homestay". Both "Grand Casa Annexe" and "Fraternity" homestays have excellent views of Kanchenzonga peak from their terraces/balconies - allowing us to skip expensive and crowded sunrise spots like Tiger Hill or the Observatory viewpoints. Both properties are ~ 3 km from the city center, but right next to the Peace Pagoda, so we could visit the place during slow times to enjoy relative quiet, besides also allowing us to walk off all the food we were eating in town daily (e.g. local Thursday market, "Gorkhey Haat")! Jeson picked us up from Bagdogra airport, and Keviv dropped us back there. Both speak excellent English. It actually felt like a homestay, as they were constantly checking in on us - for example, making sure we were up to see a rare early morning view of Kangchenzonga; or providing warm ginger tea when we all got sick; or walking us over to the two different offices to obtain our West Sikkim RAP permits; or a surprise free sunrise visit to LepchaJagat on our way to the airport because we missed it due to sickness; or making a fantastic pancake breakfast on our final day. We had some good conversations with Keviv - he provided valuable (money-saving) tips for seeing places (including local tea-estates, tea-shopping), avoiding crowds and finding some peaceful walks; and even using their local contacts to help us book our round-trip taxi service for Sikkim at the official (published) prices. When we experienced repeated plumbing problems initiallly at this property, Keviv promptly moved us into a nicer room at "Fraternity Homestay" for the same price, and also booked us back there upon our return from Sikkim.

The only "downsides" are the 3 km downhill walk to town (which we did not mind since we love walking!); and while Grand Casa serves food to order, there are no nearby cafes for a morning joe/tea.

The staff is good, very help full very courteous and professional. The view of Kanchengenga from the room is mind blowing. The staff also arranged for room heaters to manage the cold, the food and overall arrangements was very good..

The local site seeing and the transport arranged was a bit expensive, could be made reasonable when compared with other travel agencies which were later compared.

The view was so amazing that you can stand at the balcony and keep standing there for hours. And the hosts are just amazing you wont feel like a tourist or an outsider. Super amazing hosts and the food is too yum
