Clean and tidy

No thermostat on the shower so difficult to adjust. Baby gate at the top of the stairs which made it awkward with cases. No sugar or milk for coffee, no bottle opener, and bath towel not much bigger than a tea towel .. and parking an extra £25 for parking .

We stayed in St Austell to be near the connection for The Eden Project and this property was only a short walking distance down the hill from that location. The apartment has been renovated and has a clean and modern feel with all the amenities we needed. The hosts were on hand when we had an issue with the hot water which we greatly appreciated. The apartment is also within easy walking distance to a nice 'English' style pub and supermarket.

With the heatwave and warmer weather of Europe seeming to follow us on our travels, this apartment did stay very hot even with the windows open at night (it didn't drop below 26d in the bedroom). It would certainly be advantageous if investment was made in at least one air-conditioning unit, which would bring the property to a 10 for us.

This is a spacious two-bedroom apartment that was very clean, tidy and well equipped. It is very handy to the St Austell railway station and bus terminal. A short 3 or 4 minute walk from the apartment. Ideal for our purposes of spending a week exploring the beauty of Cornwall's picturesque towns. Shops, pubs, etc are close by. Our host, Naomi, promptly responded by email and resolved our enquiry about an issue with the front door lock. The bells ringing from the close by church were so nice to hear.

Being a senior couple in our seventies, we did struggle getting our luggage up and down the steep staircase, which was topped by a narrow child safety gate. Older folk should be mindful of this. We did experience problems with the water flow and temperature in the bathroom, in particular not being able to set and control the shower water flow. Trying to have a shower was a real problem with the water changing from warm to hot to cold to very hot, without us adjusting the taps. We did send an email to Naomi, however received no response. Apart from the water issue we had a very pleasant stay in this lovely apartment in St Austell.

Location was excellent - five minutes walk from the train station and close to shops and restaurants.

It would have helped if the host had provided instructions on using the cooker, rather than leaving me to read through the manual. The extractor in the bathroom didn't work, and the child gate on the stairs a nuisance.
