Ougat

The place looks exactly like the pictures — a lovely, cozy, and spotless self-catering unit with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is impressively well-equipped with an air fryer, kettle, iron, stove, microwave, toaster, and a fridge stocked with ice cubes, cold water, and milk for your convenience. There’s also coffee, tea, rusks, as well as cooking essentials like oil, salt, and pepper. I didn’t realize I’d need the oil and salt until I started making breakfast — and I was so happy to find them there! The bed was comfortable, and we slept well, although it made a few sounds when moving around. It’s not a big issue but might need to be relooked at, especially for heavier guests. Outside, there’s a lovely braai area and seating right at the back of the unit — a great spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air. The host is very welcoming and friendly. She wasn’t around on our first night but had thoughtfully arranged for someone else to check us in. I’m 100% satisfied and would definitely recommend this place!

There’s a clear, uncovered window in the shower, and I noticed a camera on the opposite house facing directly in that direction. It’s probably harmless, but it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable. Adding frosted glass or a simple covering would really help improve privacy.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Everything worked as expected, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful. I have no complaints and would gladly recommend it to anyone passing through Douglas.
