Leonina apartment

Emplacement au top, à 5min à pied du Colisée. En bas de l appartement se trouve un bar qui fait de très bonnes viennoiseries. Nous avons tout fait à pied car très central. L’appartement est grand, c’est appréciable. Un grand merci à Emro qui a été très sympathique.

L’appartement est très bruyant, pas de fenêtres à double vitrage donc on entend tout et les voisins sont également très bruyants. Heureusement à 23h plus de bruit (côté chambre). Le sommier de la chambre est à changer absolument car tout mouvement aussi infime soit il génère des craquements qui réveillent en pleine nuit. Nous avons du coup très mal dormi. L’appartement a un bon potentiel mais n’est pas optimisé à mon sens.

This property is placed in one of the best places for a stay in Rome, regardless of the duration. Via Leonina in Monti is an area very close to the heart of Rome's attractions, most of them being within walking distance. Colosseo, Foro Romano, Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, Altare de la Patria, are literally within minutes! For those further, there are plenty of transport options, Metro B Cavour station being at the end of the street and buses at the corner. The area is very vivid, with restaurants, shops, and convenience stores all around (Conad City, Carrefour Express, Pam - plus the local ones). The apartment is big, modern, with all amenities, suited for a longer stay - fridge, washing machine and a lot of space to store clothes, which is very important. Working and effective air-conditioning, hot water 7/24, kitchenette - enough to make breakfast or even a meal. The coffee maker (Nespresso compatible) is a big plus - and we were gifted with a welcome pack of capsules. The apartment is very easy to reach - 1 metro station from Roma Termini, or ~30 minutes walk on Via Cavour. We arrived late in the evening and we were able to enter the apartment with no problem - the host provided clear instructions. There is a late entry fee, however. We stayed for 10 days, and it was OK even for such a long stay. We left late, and the host was very nice to let us leave our baggage in the apartment until noon, which was very helpful.

Careful: The area is busy - but we knew it - and the streets are populated until late evening. And then, the public services start to own the street, with garbage trucks and workers throwing the bins all around. That makes the room facing the front street quite noisy. The window insulation is not coping with the street's noise; maybe it is a good idea to wear some earplugs if you plan to use this for sleeping. The bedroom, however, is placed on the opposite side of the building, and it is very quiet. The balcony is accessed from the bedroom, which opens onto an inner court. It's a technical area of the building, with exhausts from the restaurants below and AC splitters, and may be spoiled by birds' feathers, so it is not very helpful (we didn't mind). The TV has no live TV channels, is only connected to the internet, and ready for apps (YouTube, Netflix etc) - that was not a problem for us either. Staying more than one week, it would be nice if the towels were changed at least once.... Overall, there are no important minuses to be aware of, and all the benefits of staying at Leonina apartment are way above any possible complaints.
