Stanley Arms

If you're looking for five-star luxury, keep driving. If you're looking for a friendly welcome, a clean room and somewhere perfectly placed for an early ferry, the Stanley Arms does the job brilliantly. The reception was warm and welcoming, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower worked well, there was tea and coffee provided, and the on-site parking was a real bonus. Being so close to Holyhead port, the pub has plenty of character. The locals were in full swing, with a lively atmosphere that was almost as entertaining as the ferries themselves. By the end of the evening, it was hard to tell whether it was the pub or the Irish Sea doing the rocking! It's honest, good-value accommodation that knows exactly what it is. I'd happily stay there again before an early sailing.

With the warmer weather that we need to get used to, a fan in the room would have been perfect.

I stayed there, just as a stopover. the member of staff I saw, was really helpful, showed me to the room, sorted wifi code, and explained how to get out when I left. (Around 3am).

The only problem I found, was the tv remote didn't work, (probably batteries). Due to leaving so early, and needing sleep, I didn't bother going to get them replaced, so not really a complaint there.

Good location. Friendly staff.
