A large apartment in the middle of the old town but in a quiet area. All sightseeing highlights are located within 10min walking distance, a large free parking within 3min walking distance. A ferry to the beach is also within 4min on foot. It is hard to imagine a better location as a base for visiting Faro. Breakfasts at a cafe next door are tasty and relatively cheap compared to restaurants near the beach.
The general Faro problem - planes, they take off and land right above your head, I doubt any window could completely silence them. Then finding a parking space on the beach is a huge lottery, some people even park on sidewalks and get police fines. If you arrive at the beach after 9:30 AM you may spend another 30 minutes or even an hour looking for a parking spot (which justifies taking the ferry from the city if you follow their schedule).
