Château de la Mothe

Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite und entspannte Gastgeber, die uns herzlich empfangen haben und uns mit unserer Autopanne bei der Werkstattsuche sehr unterstützt haben. Die Anlage ist von Ihnen sehr gepflegt und liebevoll restauriert und modernisiert worden. Ein schöner Garten und der immer gereinigte Pool Laden zum Entspannen ein. Direkt vom Garten kann man einen Weg nach Außerhalb zu einem großen öffentlichen, sehr schön angelegten Park direkt an der Loire nehmen. Für die Fahrten in die Innenstadt liegt direkt am Chateau eine Bushaltestelle oder man kann mit Mietfahrrädern (auch ein Parkplatz direkt am Château) in 20 min. Bequem Bis ins Zentrum radeln.

Nichts

We were given a warm welcome by our host. The Perrier bedroom and ensuite bathroom were superb... very comfortable and extremely clean. The chateau itself is beautiful; our host explained that he and his wife had restored it to its former glory and that they enjoyed sharing it with their guests (there are three guestrooms). He explained a little bit about the history of the chateau and showed us the secret cave in the garden, but the story can be read in detail on the chateau's website. https://chateaudelamotheolivet.fr/ There is a swimming pool in the garden, which we were welcome to use, although we chose an early evening stroll along the Loiret River, which flows past the chateau. Very picturesque and peaceful. There are a number of restaurants in Olivet, but reservations are advised. All are a few minutes away by car. We had a very good meal at Le Pavillon Bleu, sitting on the terrace which runs along the river. A beautiful setting. There is plenty of parking inside the gates of the chateau, which are locked for extra security. The location is quiet which suited us very well. Breakfast was delicious, with French cheeses, a choice of bread/croissants etc. home-made jams, orange juice, and excellent coffee. We would certainly choose Chateau de la Mothe if ever we are in the area again! Thank you to David and Nathalie for making the last day of our holiday so special.

De passage par Olivet, très bonne expérience au château de la Mothe, merci encore !! Le lieu est rénové avec goût, les propriétaires sont charmants. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Rien à redire

Breakfast is continental, served in a beautiful 3 sided dining space with large windows. Not the spread that you might expect in a larger establishment, but perfectly adequate. We loved the location, very easy for the motorway, and yet tucked away near a lovely waterside walk and waterside restaurants. The one we tried was very good. The host David was very happy to chat about the house and show us around, including the waterside. The house has lots of character but has been restored for comfortable modern living.

Not so much a "didn't like" as a "would have been nice". Our room had a lovely bathroom but lacked an overhead shower. It only had a shower attachment to the tap at low level.
