The Gate wowed me in terms of its reception decor. I would have wished the construction site in front of it stop working during the night but it did. In terms of location this hotel is unbeatable and is connected to the Sapporo station via underground streets network. Staff is generally very polite and courteous but a few young ladies were quite reserved with their smiles and mannerism.

Stayed 4 nights at The Gate Hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city with direct underground access to Sapporo Station, the subway, JR rapid train to Chitose Airport, and nearby department stores.
We booked the Deluxe Hollywood Twin Room with lounge access and breakfast. The 28sqm room was cozy, comfortable, and well thought out. The public bath was another highlight, fully equipped with everything you need.
Breakfast was lovely, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. A special shoutout to Mr. K. Murakami, whose warm smile and attention to details made our mornings extra pleasant.
If we had to nitpick, the pillows were a bit too soft and the comforter slightly thick for summer — more pillow options and a lighter quilt would be perfect.
Overall, we’d return in a heartbeat.

The hotel is extremely very clean. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. They even help us book at Nanda for our dinner. We also requested for a special fruits and cake platter in celebration of my birthday and they accommodated our request.
