About this cottage rental

Welcome to Olive Cottage! We are delighted to introduce you to this beautiful Cotswolds cottage, nestled in the heart of Barnsley, renowned as one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds.

Olive Cottage offers a cosy retreat with a log-burning stove, a stunning garden, a well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds, ensuring a relaxing stay.

The Pig hotel is located directly opposite the cottage, and the village pub is just a one-minute walk away.

Bibury is 10 minutes drive away

Olive Cottage benefits from a large wrap around garden which includes a stone terrace with dining table for 8 people
Inside the property is newly furnished with a large living room with fireplace and two three seater sofas facing each other with a coffee table between
There is a smart to which is connected to the full fibre 1GB Wi-Fi
Next to the living room is a dining room which has a pink marble dining table and chairs for 6 to sit around the table
The kitchen is also located downstairs off the dining room and has views of the large, manicures garden
Upstairs there are two bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with a king size bed
There is a large shower room with a high pressure shower and WC
Olive Cottage is located opposite the Pig in the Cotswolds Hotel and guests will have access to the restaurants, bar and gardens of the hotel, as well as the spa where you can book treatments or just access for £30 per person

The village of Barnsley used to be a royal property under the reign of Henry VIII.
Henry VIII was known to gift the village to each of his wives in turn. This practice meant that the village belonged to the queen during their respective marriages.

More recently the main building of the Pig in the Cotswolds hotel, which used to be the Barnsley House hotel, was Barnsley House the home of Rosemary Verey - renowned garden designer who designed the garden at Barnsley house as well as other famous gardens including Highgrove House, the family residence of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla
