About this apartment rental
Loris Studio is not your typical Baltic Sea apartment.
This stylish studio combines the industrial character of the former KdF-Bad with modern comforts—right on the beach. Ideal for anyone who appreciates design, tranquility, and closeness to nature.
Loris Studio was born out of a deep connection to the island of Rügen. We were born here, spent our childhood on Prora Beach, and remember the former KdF resort when it was still a quiet ruin. Today, we want to give guests the opportunity to rediscover this special place—in a peaceful, high-quality setting that respects its history.
The studio combines the industrial character of the former KdF resort with modern living comfort. Clean lines, carefully selected materials, and original details—such as the stone wall made from historic ruin stones—deliberately keep the history of the place alive while creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
Loris Studio is located in the Mönchgut building and features a separate entrance on the first floor. You enter the apartment directly from the parking lot without having to walk through any common areas—ideal for longer stays or when traveling with a dog. In front of the entrance, a small seating area invites you to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun on the quiet countryside side.
Through the spacious hallway, which provides access to a storage room and a guest bathroom, you’ll enter the open-concept living and dining area. The high-quality kitchen is modern and fully equipped—with a stove, stylish range hood, dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment, as well as a fully automatic coffee machine, drip coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster.
The open floor plan creates a pleasant sense of space and fosters a relaxed atmosphere for spending time together.
From the living area, you can access two spacious bedrooms, each with a TV. Both rooms face the lake, so you can hear the sound of the water and fall asleep with the window open. Insect screens ensure undisturbed nights even in the summer.
The large bathroom is accessible directly from one of the bedrooms and features a modern, spacious shower.
The centerpiece of Loris Studio is the 44 m² terrace, surrounded by dune grasses and just a few steps from the beach. Here you can have breakfast, read, barbecue, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet—especially soothing during the off-season. The terrace also provides direct, lockable access to the beach. On the beach, you’ll find our very own red beach chair, which you’re welcome to add to your reservation—it’s waiting for you right in front of the apartment.
Guests traveling with dogs also feel especially at home at Loris Studio. The ground-floor location, the short distances, the expansive beaches, and the adjacent nature reserve make Prora—especially outside the peak season—an ideal place for a relaxing vacation with your four-legged friend. Dogs are welcome here.
Prora’s kilometer-long, fine-sand beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Germany. Especially during the quieter months, you can enjoy the open spaces, nature, and nearly deserted stretches of beach here.
Prora itself has developed significantly in recent years: A modern EDEKA supermarket, cafés, restaurants, small boutiques, the KdF Museum, a climbing park, and a bike rental shop are all within walking distance. You can reach the Baltic Sea resort of Binz via a walk along the beach or in just a few minutes by car. The pier in Sellin and the chalk cliffs near Sassnitz are also just a short trip away.
Loris Studio is a place to arrive, unwind, and take a deep breath. There’s really only one thing you need to do: arrive—and enjoy your time by the sea.
