I was fortunate enough to experience my first stay at The Orangery Luxury Retreat back in 2018 . Since then I have returned twice to stay in 2 other accommodations offered by its beautiful host Martine . I have just spent the past month at The Cedro and wow !!! It was love at first sight. Pure , authentic charm in the partially abandoned tiny town of La Rabatana just above the historic town of Tursi . Martine provides exceptional hospitality and accommodations. The Cedro has been lovingly restored exposing original stone walls, mismatched vintage furniture with providing all the comfortable necessities needed for a short or long stay . Walking up to the sunlit balcony with breathtaking views of the valley and Tursi town below is magical. Martine was so warm and helpful, offering local tips and recommendations for day trips around the area, Matera being one of them ! It’s a must for you to try Martines home cooking which can be arranged prior to your arrival . I can honestly say that The Cedro has been a highlight of my trip and I am planning to return in August where the weather will be warmer and I can enjoy the outdoor bath under the stars . Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience authentic, off-the-beaten path in Southern Italy 🇮🇹

The decor was so good - reclaimed gorgeous furniture that really suited the location and building. The host was so lovely and helpful and the views were outstanding. Even tho I can’t speak Italian the bars and restaurants wee so welcoming - it was a true experience of the real Italy
