Beach-side cottage with the pool North Maroubra close to Coogee

Location was great

The property was clean and nicely decorated. The pool looked inviting but we didn't partake, being winter of course. The property is gated and fenced so a small or well-trained dog can roam in the yard safely, though it's all paved or garden bed so I would recommend small dogs only though our medium one coped fine. The host provided instructions for using the sofa bed, which we ended up using for half the stay as my partner's knees became too painful for sharing a bed. It's not comfortable though, even with the topper provided, due to the ridge down the centre.

Little things, not too important. The description says the house is on the ground floor but it's technically sub-ground requiring a double-flight of stairs from the street to access. This was inconvenient for my partner's arthritic knees. There is a picture of a few steps within the split level home so we were prepared for that. My partner coped okay but it needs to be stated clearly that getting in and out of the property is by 'house-height' stairs only! The showers tended to 'leak' a lot, the doors not sealing well. I think smaller shower roses could help. They're great but seem oversized for the little shower spaces.

Location was magnificent, comfy bedding, excellent host with instant communication.

Seeing as we stayed in winter during rainy season, thicker blankets could have been provided as we solely relied on heaters to stay warm. Which were very small heaters, taking over an hour to make a difference. The tall fan heaters provided would have been wonderful if they weren't moldy. One bathroom didn't have a fan working so we couldn't have hot showers because it would have left everything wet, the bathroom that had a working fans drained was clogged so showers were extremely rushed to avoid flooding the floor; in saying this I'm hoping the hosts were just unaware and fixed it after we left.
