Modern Luxembourg City Center Apartment with big terrace

Das Apartment liegt in einer ansprechenden, ruhigen Wohnanlage.

Die Hinterlegung des Schlüssels war recht seltsam und nicht am Wohnhaus, sondern die Straße runter am einem Gitter. Leider gab es kein Booklet mit Bedienungsanleitung der Klimaanlage, fussläufige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten/Restaurants/Busstationen/Entsorgung des Mülls o.a. Trotz Anfrage a den Viermieter wo dieser entsorgt werden sollte, gab es leider keine Rückmeldung. Die Ausstattung in der Küche war spärlich, die Spülmaschine war defekt und konnte nicht verwendet werden. Eine reinliche Säuberung des Geschirrs und der Wohnung wurde leider nicht durchgeführt. Eine Instandhaltung an mancher Stelle wäre schön. Die beiden Balkone waren sehr schön, aber es gab keine entsprechenden Sitzmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt stimmte das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis - wir haben mehr erwartet.

El apartamento está nuevo y es muy cómodo. Está a unos 15 min a pie del centro de la ciudad, en una zona tranquila.

Nos costó encontrar la llave, ya que las fotos que nos envió el dueño no estaban actualizadas.

El departamento es hermoso y está muy bien ubicado, rodeado de naturaleza.

No había cápsulas de café, ni detergente para lavar los platos.

We appreciated that alternative accommodation was arranged for us at short notice when a water problem occurred at the apartment we had originally booked. We understand that unexpected problems like this can happen.

We booked three nights at 65 Rue de la Vallée, mainly because of its location close to the city centre. At around 2:30 PM on the day of check-in, we were informed of a water problem and relocated to 55 Rue de Merl. The original apartment was 80 m² with a large terrace, while the replacement was only 65 m² with a much smaller balcony. It was also farther from the city centre, next to a busy highway with noticeable traffic noise, and did not have the private washing machine we had expected. Communication with the host was difficult. WhatsApp calls were not answered, and calling the provided telephone number led to an answering machine. Even after I left a message specifically asking for a call back, I received a WhatsApp message instead. Before checking out, I sent the host a detailed and polite message listing the problems we had experienced in the replacement apartment. I wanted to be transparent and give the host the opportunity to know about and address them, rather than raising them for the first time in a public review. These included a faulty electric kettle that did not switch off automatically, a broken balcony-door handle, a missing dishwasher door panel, a broken balcony parasol, non-working lights, and inconvenience with the shared washing machine and dryer. Following Booking.com's advice, I later contacted the host again and requested a partial refund equivalent to one night of our three-night stay. The host did not respond. Booking.com also repeatedly tried to contact the property regarding our complaint. According to Booking.com Customer Service, the property “consistently failed to respond to our formal complaints and inquiries.” After approximately three weeks without a resolution from the host, Booking.com eventually stepped in and provided Travel Credits from its own funds as a goodwill gesture. The Travel Credits covered only a relatively small part of the total cost of our stay and were not a refund from the property.
