Svanieri-Cottage in Svaneti

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem gemütlichen Holzhaus in Swanetien, Georgien, war einfach unvergesslich! Die Lage ist spektakulär, mit atemberaubendem Blick auf die Berge. Der Weg zur Unterkunft war für georgische Verhältnisse gut befahrbar. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und bietet ausreichend Platz für unsere Familie. Die ruhige Umgebung und die kuscheligen Betten sorgten für erholsamen Schlaf. Das große Grundstück mit Schaukeln für die Kinder war ein weiteres Highlight. Für alle, die Ruhe und Entspannung in der Natur suchen, ist dies der perfekte Ort. Wir haben freilaufende Kühe und Pferde in der Umgebung gesehen und das frische, trinkbare Bergwasser in unmittelbarer Nähe war einfach fantastisch. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die gastfreundliche Familie, die uns wie Freunde behandelt hat. Die Gastgeber waren immer erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Essen war ein absoluter Genuss! Alles wurde frisch zubereitet und mit viel Liebe gekocht. Das Frühstück und Abendessen sollten auf keinen Fall verpasst werden – die Produkte stammen allesamt aus eigenem Anbau und waren köstlich und gesund. Die Wanderungen in der Umgebung sind atemberaubend und bieten für jeden etwas. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Das kleine Häuschen ist gemütlich und absolut idyllisch gelegen. Besonders die tolle Lage mitten in der Natur und die absolute Ruhe haben mich begeistert. Dazu ist die Gastgeberin sehr herzlich und extrem hilfsbereit! Ein absolutes Highlight war das hervorragende, hausgemachte Abendessen! Didi madlova🫶

Le cottage était absolument magnifique. J’y ai fêté mon anniversaire, et c’était le plus bel anniversaire de ma vie. J’ai passé cinq jours là-bas, mais c’était beaucoup trop peu — je reviendrai certainement pour un plus long séjour. J’ai également goûté aux plats traditionnels svariens que Miranda m’a fait découvrir. C’était une expérience inattendue et très agréable. Un immense merci pour tout

Svanieri is pure perfection — peace and tranquility at their best. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and become one with nature, the forest, the mountains, and the night sky. And the stars… what a show! When was the last time you saw the Milky Way with the naked eye? Here you’ll see millions of sparkling stars every night. By day, the mountain views are just as breathtaking — the kind that make you rethink what truly matters in life. Have you ever stood on a mountain and watched a cloud drift straight through you? Or breathed so deeply the fresh air made you feel dizzy, like a glass of fine wine? You’ll experience all that here. The cottage sits high on the mountain, about 600 meters from an authentic Svan village called Pari. It’s so secluded you can’t even see the village — just you, the mountain, and the views. The cottage is impressively spacious, with enough room for two families with kids, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The hosts also offer delicious home-cooked meals at very fair prices, made by a local grandmother. My wife literally had tears in her eyes when she tasted the homemade meat blintzes on our first day; she said it reminded her of her childhood home cooking. Outside, the yard is full of great spots: a shaded sitting area under a fruit tree, two hammocks, a swing perched on the cliff edge (perfect for photos), and a firepit to warm up on cool nights. A supermarket is just a 10-minute drive away for basic supplies.

The cottage is quite remote. Other than the nearby supermarket, the only real hub is Mestia, the regional capital, which is about a 45-minute drive away. To be fair, if you want to do anything in Svaneti you’ll likely head to Mestia anyway, since everything connects there. It just means you’ll need to plan your grocery shopping ahead. Alternatively, do what we did — order meals directly from the hosts. They prepare delicious food with just a few hours notice (or the night before, for breakfast). Just note breakfast is usually served after 10am, since it’s freshly made.
