Villa Minou Ta Khmau near Airport

Villa Minou was an outstanding introduction to Cambodia. Hosts Thomas and Ingrid obviously love their country and want everyone else to love it too. Suggestions on what to see, how to haggle at the matkets, basic phrases, they helped with the essentials. I chose it because it is located near the airport. Other activities were 15 to 30 minute tuk tuk ride away. Or just ask Thomas. He was only too happy to give a lift in his BYD. I made good use of the large and beautiful pool. My room had an enormous bathroom. The whole room was tastefully decorated.The tropical fruits for breakfast were a refreshing start to the day. WiFi was very reliable.

Phnom Penh has no sidewalks and barely any pedestrian crossings so is not walkable. That is a problem easily overcome because tuk tuks are very cheap. I found the bathroom taps hard to understand. Shall we call it creative plumbing?

Due to issues with our flight tickets, our host picked us up at the airport twice and also dropped us off at the station upon our departure. We are extremely grateful for that! We are a Chinese‑French family from China. We were pleasantly surprised that the host couple speak fluent French, and we had very enjoyable conversations. It was such a great start to our first day in Cambodia!

Beautiful, spacious rooms with a very large swimmingpool in a quiet environment

Not many reataurants within walking distance

Lovely building and pool, huge room, tastefully furnished. With plenty of wardrobe space and draws. Good AC. Welcomed by owners who recommended a restaurant which was good. Kindly offered airport drop off but not quite as competitive in price but for ease it’s a great additional service.

The bed mattress was rock hard and so uncomfortable. The shower was cold even after running the water a long time but we did not shower until late so felt unable to raise this with them. Told on arrival payment in cash only. No bank transfer / no card option. Looked again at the booking.com description and could not find this stated anywhere. Fortunately we did have cash otherwise we would have to find an ATM! Not ideal. A kettle and tea/coffee in the room would be a nice addition as we had to leave for the airport before breakfast started so a coffee would have been appreciated.
