The Neighborhood:
Located in The Whalehead Neighborhood in Corolla, NC. Just a short walk to the beach! A short drive to nearby restaurants, shops, and Carova Beach which is the home of the OBX wild horses!
There are several grocery stores within minutes. Food Lion and Harris Teeter. There are local eateries in Corolla and in Duck. Most of the nicer ones will require a reservation - some on Open Table. There are many adventure activities and tours in the area and they fill up fast.
Just a few minutes north is the entrance to the 4x4 Beach, where you can take a scenic drive on the sand and possibly catch a glimpse of the wild horses grazing on the beach. Walk to the Whalehead Brewery, Food Lion or Timbuck 2 shopping center.

Our stay was fantastic at The Son Spot. The location was just a quick walk down the street to the beach and the house was well equipped with all of our needs! We traveled with two infants and the house included a crib, high chair, and a few baby friendly toys! The house set up was perfect to accommodate each family on a different floor as each family had their own living space, bedroom and bathroom to themselves with a common living space on the top level. Thanks for a great stay! Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time!
Le Anne was phenomenal to work with on the booking process. Extremely responsive & helpful. I even appreciated her checking in with us during our stay.
The house was perfect for our group. 4 adults, 3 teenagers, and a child. Everyone had their own space & privacy. The home was extremely clean and very well taken care of. Towels, linens and beds were very comfortable! Kitchen was well supplied. We had everything we needed! The closet full of pool & beach supplies/toys was a welcome surprise! Made our stay just that much better. I can't say enough good things about the home!
Negatives:
1. One of the outside staircases has raised nail heads that were extremely painful to step on. Just need a hammer to pound those back in.
2. The water level in the pool was very low and the pump was really struggling because it was so dry. If it had continued the way that it was, the owner was potentially looking at thousands of dollars to replace. We ran a rose and brought the water level back up.
3. The dryer wasn't working. We later found the dryer vent outside to be about 98% blocked. Once we took that down and cleaned it out, the dryer worked great!
4. Would have been nice to know that the beach access a block from the house was going to be closed during our stay.
5. Pool deck area could use some TLC. Lots of weeds growing in the cracks and could use a good cleaning. Backyard and putting area look neglected as well.
