Welcome to JUST A FLUKE, a classic cedar shake and shingle beach house which blends with the natural beauty of the Outer Banks Beaches. This house is one of the few standing in the area to give you a glimpse of the history and culture, charm of the area of what it was like then when the Wild Horses were grazing in the yard when this beautiful coastal house was built. FLUKE is less than 10 minutes’ drive to the historic Corolla Lighthouse, historic Whalehead House, to local trail, to cafes, restaurants, shops, groceries, and golf courses.

This 3356 sq ft property is full of authentic character. It’s not like walking into a hotel room with sterile wall paints. You are here immediately welcomed by the beach vibe, a true sense of escape with each room thoughtfully decorated with coastal vibes. Each room is spacious, comfortable with 4 KING size bedrooms. You can hear the gentle sound of ocean in the quiet of the night and when you wake up in the morning. You are not swimming in a community pool, but here you have your own huge private pool and it is fun at night with colorful pool lights. This house is truly convenient as you are only 4 minutes’ walk to the beach with beach access to the right or to the left. Your pick!

Whether you are looking for a serene retreat or a fun party of energetic kids, fun-loving family, friends, or coworkers, this 7-bedroom house is perfect for large groups. All adult rooms have ensuite baths. The children’s rooms share a spacious bathroom, thoughtfully designed with 2-bathroom sinks.

This house has a reverse-floor plan, the kitchen has a bar with seating of 4, two dining areas, and the great room on the top floor.

The great room TV is connected to speakers for a nice Sensurround audio for enhanced movie time or YouTube karaoke and dance nights.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, baking, and entertaining.

The spacious entertainment room on the ground floor has a wet bar and is a favorite place to hang out to play pool, beer pong or enjoy the Pacman machine.

Outside the house is a large private pool with a hot spa heated to 104 degrees, delightful at day or night in the spring and fall.
The large private pool is a summer favorite for our new and returning guests.
There is a weber grill by the pool and 3 picnic tables, 2 by the pool and one in the backyard.
Colorful pool lights are installed which makes for fun summer nights of splashing, swimming or just relaxing.

There is plenty of room in the backyard for corn hole that we provide or setting up your own volleyball net for a volleyball game.

There is an outside shower, an outdoor fish table for anglers, and a picnic table in the backyard.

Cleaning & Maintenance:
Our cleaners are experienced trained professionals, who have worked with other property management companies. They are trained to follow our cleaning guidelines to ensure your stay is welcoming and comfortable.
Our maintenance professional and our pool technician arrive promptly within reasonable notification.


Basic Supplies:
The home is stocked with a starter supply of kitchen products, paper towels, toilet paper and hand soaps. You are to bring your own soap, shampoo and toiletries. We provide bath towel sets for each person. You are to bring your personal beach towels.

Internet
High Speed internet is available. WIFI password is on the refrigerator door.
All TVs have Roku. You may bring your own laptop and HDMI if you prefer to stream with other streaming such as Peacock, etc.

Check In
Check In is at 4 p.m. or after, Eastern Time.
Your check-in instructions, including access code, will be on your VRBO message within 24 hours prior to your arrival.
Please message me upon arrival to let me know if check in was successful.

Check Out
Please see check out guidelines.
Check out at 9 a.m.
You will be charged a late check out fee of $25 per 15 minutes increments.
Wash your dirty dishes, pots and pans upon check out. Dirty dishes should be
put in the dishwasher and turned on and run so that our cleaners are not burdened with extra time of washing dishes. We charge $500 for extra hours of cleaning.
Place all used towels on the bathroom floor on the ground floor.

Please bring back beach chairs from the beach. We charge you for lost beach chairs during your stay.
Please let me know in advance if there is anything missing, broken, or needed to be replaced.
Please kindly let me know estimated time of your departure.
Please send me a quick message letting me know when you have checked out.
For any reckless damage to the property, we will submit a claim with VRBO, and it will be the guest's responsibility to pay for the damage and replacement costs. Some guests get property damage insurance with VRBO for peace of mind.

Property Rules & Guidelines
Minimum Age to Rent: 25 years old
Family Groups Only, no fraternities allowed.
Large events, parties, or under-age groups are prohibited.
Indoor smoking is prohibited. Smoke alarms are installed in all rooms.

Pool Operating Months
The pool will open April 1st and close in the last week of October.


Parking
Street Park is prohibited. We have a large driveway that can accommodate 6-8 cars.


EMS
Corolla Fire and Rescue is along Whalehead Drive, located on the same street as this property. For any emergency call 911.
Urgent Care is 30 minutes’ drive; summer traffic may be variable.
Outer Banks Hospital is an hour’s drive at Nags Head.

Town Beauty
Corolla is one of the best beach towns in the Outer Banks. It is considered least distressed beach town not significantly eroded during storms. Corolla is a family favorite destination, with its miles of beaches suitable to all ages especially children. This is a historic town known for the wild Spanish Mustangs, the historic Light House which you can enjoy climbing up the 200 steps to see the beautiful vista, the historic Whalehead House, the Boat museum, and the romantic Corolla Park for catching spectacular sunsets.
