Charming Local Flat near São Bento Palace

I did pay a discounted rate, and it was great value. Great location, really cosy. It was quiet but near enough to walk to the busy part of Bairro Alto for night life. Friendly employees at the restaurant downstairs put me at ease. Clean with basic kitchenette.

I stayed on my own, would be fine for a couple but any more than this would have been a squeeze. no aircon, which I don't mind as the fans were sufficient and it was cool enough to sleep well. Very small bathroom. Small narrow stairs to walk up, but this is normal in most of Lisbon. The bed was a bit hard but that's only if I'm being really picky, otherwise I had a great stay!

Easy check-in process. The location was OK.

The bedroom is quite small - I literally did not fit (I'm 187 cm /6'1" tall) and sleeping diagonally was also not comfortable. I figured out that the sofa pulls out and that ended up being my bed... However, the restaurants downstairs are quite loud until midnight or so and the bin collector people start making noise early in the morning and the neighbours dogs bark every morning. The lamp next to the bed is buzzing when you switch it on - I'm afraid it might short circuit if left unattended. The warm water tap did not work in the toilet's sink. The shower gel/shampoo dispenser in the shower cubicle was empty. The microwave looked to be older than me. The tap in the kitchen sink is loose and the entire thing moves when you try using it... The guitar (yes decorative) only has 3 strings. I think €89 per night is a lot to pay for the above.
