The building underwent full renovation in 2004 and the project was awarded the second prize in an yearly competition that appraises the reconstruction of old town buildings throughout Portugal. Its major source of beauty are the glazed tiles (azulejos), dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, which are different from floor to floor, thus rendering each apartment unique.

We had a great 4 week stay. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Carlos was there to welcome us and to see us off. The only time we needed assistance was when a light needed replacement and Carlos was quick to respond. It is in a great location within walking distance of a grocery store and very good restaurants. The tram to city centre is within a few minutes walk.Would be pleased to stay there again.John and Elaine

The apartment is situated perfectly and central to everything we wanted to do. We loved the tile accents and old-world charm of the place. We stayed for 4 weeks, and the weekly cleaning was very nice and appreciated. We did some remote work there, and the internet was very fast, and we had no issues. We never saw any other tenants in the building, but we could hear other people's footsteps and even conversations at times. We read other reviews about this, though, and came prepared with earplugs for sleeping.
