The Wagon, rustic off grid experience

Very clean, cozy and comfortable wagon. Hosts are lovely people. Coming with two young shepherds for 5 days, fence security was crucial and first thing we've checked. Part of the fence docked to sheep paddock had gaps where our dogs could easily escape, we asked for materials to block it, then Sam came with timber and tools and fixed the issue completely - we couldn't expect that and can't be grateful enough! Experience overall was very unwinding and private, we did not even want to go out and explore places - cooked of own provision and had a quality family time. The night of solar eclipse and Perceid's Meteor Shower we were laying on the grass watching the sky - priceless moments.

That's not a property feature, but the heatwave didn't make it easy for us. During the day inside was pretty hot and outside only two strips of shadow (from the wagon and around the tree), grass was rather hay - completely dried out, obviously no bbq for safety reasons. Think with plenty of rain green grass should be back and territory more pleasant for people and their furry friends. May be important for reactive/hearding dog owners - sheep is right at your eye sight at all times. Our dogs coped better than they could, not without random barking though. Owners're very easy & understanding people and made us feel it wasn't a problem. We didn't find routes to safely walk dogs off the lead around, all farm lands with live stock and roads with traffic or without in-between. Dogs had a lot of racing around the wagon and on leash walks in the forests within 20-45 min drive. Sheep dropping is a part of the farm environment, our dogs did very best to dig every piece out of the grass and eat it, of course:) I guess it can't be 100% cleared, but great if immediate area around the wagon would have minimum of it;)

The location was excellent for walking in the hills and dovedale, it was an experience like never before if you want peace and quiet watching the stars and being away from modern life it's what you want.

A little dark at night time in the wagon but you adjust its basic but that adds to the excitement and experience. Walking through the sheep to get home making new friends every time.

How high up the bed was but it was fun and new.

Just what we needed for relaxation. Had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Loved reading my book by lantern and the sheep around us. Family were very welcoming but left us to it. Had a nice walk up Wetton Hill with the dog then Thor’s Cave and the viewpoint. Nice real ale in the Royal Oak.

If anything our dog was too little to leave off lead as she would have got through the gate and isn’t a sheep fan! But we probably wouldn’t have left her to roam around anyway. So all perfect 😍
