Wonderful break in December: warm and cosy, beautiful accommodation and location

i love wetton but the quickest roads in and out to Leek are single track, narrow and hilly. I am a local so familiar with this lane and used to it, but I do prefer not to and if you are from the city or not confident with country driving, this is a difficulty and a stress.

An amazing place. We go away every year and there are 3 families . This was perfect.

Great size Perfect for large groups. As a large group, we go away every year for NY. This is potentially one of the best . Although we were in 2 properties, the main one comfortably housed us during Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner. There were 12 of us too. There were parking for all 3 of our vehicles. Plenty of places to walk and Sainsburys was just 20 mins away. Plenty of Cooking utensils. Microwave Dishwasher Washing machine everything except coffee machine and Air fryer.

Needs a fan for log burner to dispel heat better An up to date First Aid kit Earlier Check in (1pm) would have been nice An additional Wheelie bin to dispose of waste as the 2 commercial bins were full.

Location was great only small thing was that all the pubs in the area didn't serve food after 6pm which we didn't know and had a bit of an issue finding something to eat upon our arrival

Well furnished, comfortable and cosy. The milk and biscuits provided, was a thoughtful.

The woodwork on the outside of the cottage could do with painting.

Enjoyable location and cottage adequate.

Location. Property's heating, hot water, shower, washing machine.

Not enough coat hooks downstairs. No shoe storage (e.g shelving for shoes). Not enough towel rail in bathroom. No shower gel provided. Nearly ran out of toilet roll. An egg poaching pan would be nice also.

We had a peaceful 2 day break, the cottage is a great base to explore the area

Great location & spacious property, communication from host was good. Lovely food at the local pub. Good spot for walking with dogs. WiFi was good

Great spot, too much dog hair

Great setting, comfortable bed, parking, outdoor garden. Very helpful staff. Extended family able to get together across a number of cottages. Nice pub opposite with decent homemade food. Despite remote location able to get supermarket delivery.

Dog hair everywhere! When the cleaners were asked to return to hoover our cottage again we realised they didn't have the correct equipment, a hoover model that is known to be terrible for getting up dog hair and no rubber brush. In one cottage an old sweet was found behind the door and a dog chew under the master bed.

Nice properties, but could have been cleaner.

The location and setting was just right for us. In a quiet village with a pub within walking distance and easy access to countryside walks.

The cottages could have been cleaner. There was pet hair everywhere; if you walked in your socks, they would be covered with dog hair. It was too icky to go barefoot, I was so glad I had brought slippers with me. Despite signs stating that pets are not allowed upstairs, people clearly took them up. My sister found a dog chew under her bed. I always wonder if people who own/design these types of properties have ever stayed in one before - there were no hooks in the bedrooms and only one in the bathroom. When the property is designed for four people and there are only white towels, there really should be somewhere for everyone to hang up their towels so that they don't get mixed up.

Perfect place in the country

Lovely location and a very nice cottage to base ourselves at, Was very clean and tidy throughout ,beds very comfy bedding fresh and clean and along with towels were hotel quality. Plenty of room to relax and chill after a days walking, Beautiful walks within the local area and so peaceful throughout the village. The tearooms made a perfect place for a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake. Would highly recommand and would return in the future

I stayed in larkspur 21years ago and it was outstanding, i was disappointed this time with our cottage a smaller one, it was looking tired, marks on wall, kitchen utensils sparse-frying pans to small, no lid on kitchen bin to keep flys out.it just needs a freshen up to have that sparkle again.

Cottage was noisy because of a faulty pump in the heating system , a plumber attended and the issue is likely to have been fixed after our stay. It was a humming noise constantly.

Great location with excellent walks locally, great local pub too. Really cosy but spacious house, well equipped kitchen, lovely welcome basket, very clean, comfortable beds.

Only issue we found was the shower, great pressure but the water came out as one clump of water rather than a shower

A brilliant place for our large family gathering in a beautiful part of the country.

This was a big family gathering so we liked the fact that 24 of us could stay there and we also liked the fact that we had separate but connected properties - win/win The local pub was just 200 yards away and did very good food.

We could have used a bigger fridge and some of the food shelves were missing. The property talked about shared space for a BBQ but there was no BBQ and only a couple of outdoor tables.

Lovely barns at a really reasonable price. Definitely worth the money

Lovely barns and great staff. Especially loved the fireplaces and that they decorated a little for Christmas, had everything we needed in the kitchen too.

The hot water ran out quite quickly when we all walked to shower after our hike which was annoying as half our group ended up having to have cold showers, and some of the beds were uncomfortable.

Really great cosy cottage - brilliant location for walks . Good facilities in the cottage - very comfortable . My whole family had a great time . Booking and communication with the hosts was really easy . Highly recommend .

Would definitely come again, fantastic relaxing break in beautiful countryside just what we needed.

Perfect little cottage, fantastic for the dogs and great location for walking. Apologies, we did break a glass.

We loved it difficult to find room for improvement it had everything we needed. The only thing for us would be as dogs are not allowed upstairs a gate or safety gate at the bottom would be great as ours are used to having the run of the house. It wasn’t a problem we improvised and put the fire guard across.

We were self catering and found the cottage had everything we needed. it was a bit dated in places although we found adequate and warm enough for us . The bedroom door couldn't be opened fully as it was door close to the wall.

Lovely place, great location

Fantastic location. The cottage was larger than expected well equipped and spotlessly clean. Shower was great with brilliant water pressure and WIFI also good.

The mattresses were a bit hard for my liking but everything else was fantastic.
