Mater Familias Oasis

Ein phantastisches Ambiente in einem alten, renovierten Landhaus mit großem Garten; sehr geschmackvolles Zimmer; ruhige Lage, aber nah an Syrakus. Am allerbesten waren die außergewöhnlich netten und interessanten Gastgeber.

The photos on Booking don’t do the place justice — in person it’s incomparably more beautiful. The hosts are wonderful, always willing to help and answer any question. The air conditioning in the room is excellent; even though it was 40 degrees outside, the room was very pleasant. The shared kitchen has everything you need. A beautiful garden and lots of animals living in harmony. Definitely a recommendation in every way. Perfect!

This place is sure a hidden gem of Sicily. Renovated old monastery looks like a masterpiece from a good movie, all materials are natural and you can breath and touch real stone, wood or ceramic. Horses and other animals make this place similar to a cozy video game 🥰☀️🍋 Also, it is made with such a awesome attitude to little details! Beside the room you have a kitchen with all you need like pots, ceramic colorful Sicilian plates, farm made olive oil, or ice molds , wonderful terrace with place to relax. We were at August during the maximum HEAT waves 🔥☀️ and their AC is really doing its job and cooling very well! So don’t be afraid of heat. Also, in the room you have not only standard things but also tooth paste or even a SPF creme. At least but not last Laura and David (the owners) are such amazing people, I think they are symbol of hospitality and Sicilian vitality, they love animals and the planet. We are so happy to know them! 📍The location is good right next to Syracuse but without the crowds , so you can enjoy quite and relaxed atmosphere, hearing cicadas and wind, relax in the garden (we did even managed to grill octopus there!). 🚗 We were travelling by a rented car and they always had a place to park! (Even despite of the fact it was quite a big car).

We absolutely loved our stay here. This beautiful old monastery, now lovingly run by the family, feels incredibly special and peaceful. There are only a few rooms, which makes the whole place feel very private and personal. The family was incredibly warm and welcoming, especially Laura, who made us feel at home from the very beginning. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the garden with all the animals was a highlight every morning. The location is also perfect, just around 20 minutes from Syracus, while still being close to beautiful beaches and other places worth exploring. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful little escape in Sicily. We will absolutely come back!
