Skotino Villa

Verborgen parel op Kreta – absolute aanrader Ik boekte deze villa last-minute tijdens een zakenreis naar Kreta, en het was werkelijk een verborgen pareltje. Als Nederlands-Griek met Kretenzische afkomst zoek ik altijd naar charme, comfort en rust — en deze plek had het allemaal. De villa is prachtig ontworpen, biedt volledige privacy en ’s ochtends hoor je alleen het gezang van vogels bij het zwembad. Het dorp is authentiek en heel rustig. Er zijn geen taverna’s op loopafstand, maar binnen 3–4 minuten rijden is alles te vinden. Het strand ligt op slechts 7–8 minuten afstand. De straatjes zijn smal, dus een kleine auto is handig, maar parkeren in de buurt was geen probleem. Het huis is van hoge kwaliteit, met BOSCH-apparatuur en stijlvolle afwerkingen. De hosts waren ontzettend vriendelijk en gastvrij — we vonden zelfs vers fruit bij de deur. Ik kom hier zeker terug. Een plek die zowel voelt als thuiskomen als ontsnappen.

Our stay at Villa Skotino was absolutely wonderful. The property is beautifully designed, very tastefully and carefully furnished, and at the same time warm and cozy – we felt at home right away. A special highlight was the host, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and always available. You can truly feel how much she cares about her guests and their comfort. The surrounding area is lovely, and with a short drive you can reach excellent restaurants in the region. We would happily return at any time and can highly recommend Villa Skotino without hesitation.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Skotino Villa war einfach herausragend – die Unterkunft hat all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Von der ersten Minute an haben wir uns wie ein Teil von Sofias Familie gefühlt. Die Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft waren wirklich etwas ganz Besonderes. Da wir unser vorheriges Hotel wegen eines nahegelegenen Waldbrandes spontan verlassen mussten, haben Sofia und ihre Familie sofort gehandelt und alles in Bewegung gesetzt, um uns zu helfen. Diese Unterstützung in einer so stressigen Situation werden wir nie vergessen. Obendrauf gab es viele tolle Tipps für Restaurants und Attraktionen – jeder einzelne war ein Volltreffer! Die Villa selbst ist ein Traum: eine stilvolle Küche mit echtem Travertinstein, zwei riesige Schlafzimmer mit großen, modernen Badezimmern, Klimaanlage, ein großer Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Spülmaschine – es fehlt an nichts. Draußen gibt es sogar einen riesigen Grill. Die Lage ist wunderbar ruhig und perfekt zum Entspannen. Supermärkte sind in nur 5 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Zur Begrüßung wartete ein liebevoll zusammengestellter Obstkorb und eine Flasche Wein auf uns – diese kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten haben unseren Aufenthalt noch besonderer gemacht. Schaut euch die Bilder an – alles ist genauso schön wie beschrieben, wenn nicht sogar noch besser. Wir haben uns in diesen Ort verliebt und kommen ganz sicher wieder! Our stay at Skotino Villa was absolutely outstanding – it truly exceeded all of our expectations. From the very first moment, Sofia and her wonderful family made us feel like we were part of their own. Their warmth and hospitality were simply unforgettable. We had to leave our previous hotel due to a nearby wildfire, and Sofia and her family immediately took action to help us without hesitation.

The house is newly built and the hosts are new, but everything was amazing. The house is beautiful, and the hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. The views are stunning — mountains, trees, sea, and a lovely village. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet, the sound of birds, and the relaxing atmosphere. The village has narrow streets and old stone houses that give it a true Greek charm. A wonderful place to stay! and relax. The house has a very nice pool area although its not very big, 10 steps lower it has a sitting area and it also has a back veranda which directly connects with the kitchen area and has a dinning table with 6 chairs.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but I think the following may be useful for future guests: The village itself doesn’t have any amenities, but that wasn’t a problem for us. We had a motorbike, and just 2 minutes away in the next village there were plenty of tavernas, mini markets, and everything we needed. The beach is also very close — about 6 minutes by car. For those planning to rent a car, I’d recommend choosing a small one, as the streets in the village leading to the house are narrow. That said, there’s plenty of parking available just 1–2 minutes on foot from the house, which is ideal for anyone not comfortable driving through small village roads.
