Casa do Aviador

The roof top 10/10

It was great

The location is good. Very close to Ponta Delgada without being in the center and super easy to get to the airport. Quiet and views of the water (at least from unit B). Rooftop terrace was nice. The unit is stylish and has water views. Nice little coffee shop practically next door. Reasonable price.

The access code didn't work. Host thought it was funny that we stood outside trying the code repeatedly and got drenched because it was pouring rain at the time. Their reply, "go take a bath" with laughing emoji. They had programmed the wrong date in apparently. They did text "Sorry, my mistake". Stairs to the unit are steep and the entry doorway to the building is very small so a bit difficult to enter with luggage. The bathroom is tiny. The bed creaks at the slightest movement and I mean, it creaks LOUDLY. And my husband and I are both small people. There is a common washer/dryer for all of the apartments and it is really loud. There is a sign on it for guests to not use it after 10PM but of course that is ignored. Someone was drying jeans or shoes until 12:30AM.
