Oceanfront Vintage Retreat in Kailua-Kona

We liked pretty much everything about this unit for the price. And what a great view. Good location in that you could get to town by car quickly or out to the Belt Highway without too much traffic. The unit had a few extras in the cabinets for cooking, and a nice set of binoculars, beach chairs, etc. The grounds were clean, pretty, and quiet. We could always find a parking spot close to the unit. I would stay there again.

I didn't like that it cost more to check in two hours early than it did to stay for a whole extra day at the end. When we arrived, we asked if we can just pay for a whole extra day instead of paying the higher fee for the early entry, we were told it wasn't available. We went to the unit three hours early and no one was in the unit. So we learned right away there is a disconnect between the property and Booking.com. Also, we had paid for a whole extra day at the end of the trip, but on the Booking.com app it said we were to check out on the original day. We questioned that and were assured that although it did not have the correct day, they were doing it manually on their end and we were indeed booked. On that extra day, we were locked out of the condo. It took over an our to get it resolved. Additionally, when we first arrived, the Booking.com app did not show the entry code, looked like the page was frozen in the wrong spot, but the text from the Grand Welcome Kona did get us in.

Great location. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. Clean and in great shape.

The only complaint was that the location on email took us to the wrong complex. Also it does not say the name of the complex so it took some time to find. But when we called they were very helpful. Saw complaints in reviews about no air conditioner but temperatures are on low 80s and with fans we were never hot

The location was excellent. The property has wonderful original art on the walls.

The property needed a deep cleaning, and I mentioned it to booking, and I believe the owner is going to take care of that.
