The Carlton Tavern Hotel

Very clean and great decor. Good value for money and in a lovely quiet and safe area.

No staff onsite - everything is digital. Nowhere to leave bags when arriving early or leaving late meaning we had to drag our luggage around for most of the day. It's hidden around the back of the Carlton Tavern pub, which is nice but doesn't do the rooms around the back justice.

It was a beautiful room with really lovely decoration and I felt extremely comfortable and safe, the bathroom as well was stunning! amazing value for money. I’m sure I will be back very soon :)

The only thing I will say is the pub was loud in the evening and the keg distribution vans were very loud in the morning, so ear plugs are advised which will completely solve this problem, it’s also to be expected above a pub, the WiFi also didn’t work on my phone for some reason, apart from that it’s a really beautiful place and I would love to come back and stay,

the location was convenient for us

the internet did not reach our room on the second floor; when I asked about it, I was told that the internet was working fine… but it isn’t able to reach that room. I had to use my personal hotspot in the end. If you aren’t computer savvy, you might have a problem. The safe was locked shut so couldn’t be used. And checkout is noon but the app to open to doors ended abruptly at 10:30am so we had to ask the staff to let us into the room. This is a self-service “hotel” so you have to be very independent to enjoy it.
