It was clean, and the internet worked; the location was good. The kitchen was equipped and there was extra coffee.
The host (or a friend of the host?) came and brought more towels and worked on the couch when I called.
There was minimal equipment - only 3 mugs, only 2 chairs, a small eating table, just enough towels. The IKEA pull-out couch had been assembled incorrectly so that the side fell off and the bed could not be pulled out.
The place is in the basement, and the bathroom fan was running all the time.
It was not quite clear who the host was; also it was not clear how to get into the place. I eventually looked in the mailbox and found a key; we then tried that key in several entry doors (the building seems to have several apartments, and they all looked empty) until it fit in one. Comparing it with the online pictures, we seemed to have found the right place - and suddenly a door opened and somebody came in who said they were the host.

It was easy to find, close to restaurants, had handy parking, the accommodations were modern and tidy, had a great kitchen, the bedrooms had fans, the closets were big, the beds were very comfortable and the host was very helpful and accommodating.
It is a basement suit, so there stairs and no windows with a view or sunlight. It could use a few simple conveniences like a bathroom towel bar, door hook, toilet paper holder, Kleenex and maybe a Brita for drinking water.

Off street parking on driveway felt safe and secure. Private entrance to basement apartment. Modern design, clean and comfortable. Great to have full kitchen facilities without big cleaning fee for short stay. Walking distance to bars and restaurants.
Somewhat limited cooking pots / utensils compared to other self catering places we have been in eg. only 1 pan. Really appreciate a well appointed kitchen when you get one.
