The cabin itself and the location were great. I guess they had bought new living room furniture as it was different from the photos (no reclining chair, a " biggie ". The absolute worst was no internet. Which means NO tv. The upstairs bedroom had a tv with no cable connection and a small supply of old VHS tapes. The owners did try to fix it with no success. The internet provider couldn't come while we were there. The owners offered us 2 more days at no charge which we couldn't do. They then gave us a gift card as a token of good will

Thìs beautiful home was tucked way off the main road in Townsend, Tn. About a mile into the woods it was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. The home had all the amenties and if you like waking to peaceful quiet this is the place for you. Pet friendly. This 3 bedroom/2 bath home was perfect

Cabin was definitely more secluded, there are a couple cabins around but it’s in a wooded area so a lot of privacy. GPS will confuse you and we arrived at night in the dark but was able to find it via the directions provided but it was a little sketchy at first I think just because it was dark and a dead end at the bottom of a steep drive lol. We had a bear come up to the back porch which was pretty cool. Cabin was well stocked, it was pretty clean but a few things could have been improved like the jacuzzi tub appeared clean but after filling it up and turning the jets on there was a brown film on top of the water so I suggest cleaning out the jets more often and when we arrived and was looking around there was a cockroach in the bath tub but I only saw the one the whole time so I don’t think there’s a bug problem, and it seemed like an older cabin it had that old cabin smell masked by some plug ins that just didn’t mix well, other than that everything was great. I think location was the best thing about this cabin we normally stay around Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area but decided to stay in a quieter more secluded area for our 10 yr anniversary and we loved it. The park was nearby and driving through the mountains was lovely! A tv in the bedroom would have been nice but not a deal breaker.

If you like privacy, peacefulness, solitude this is the place for you. The location of this property is what sold us. It’s literally in the woods! It does have neighbors but they are nicely spaced out. The cabin itself is a copy of others that we’ve rented but it’s very nice. It was very well equipped with everything someone would need to stay for a long period of time. It does have a wood burning fireplace which would be nice in the winter. The king size bed in the master slept very nicely. It was just a really nice place to stay for a week. It’s very close to Townsend which we really liked. Now I don’t want anyone to be alarmed about what I’m getting ready to say; the road that leads to this cabin is a single lane two way road and the gravel road down to the cabin is steep and could be intimidating to some but I LOVED IT! It’s kind of what we expect from a Tennessee road! We have an all wheel drive Santa Fe and we had no problem whatsoever. Someone said in another review that you need four wheel drive but you don’t! My daughter came to visit while we were there and she has a front wheel drive Santa Fe which did just fine. Like I said I love the thrill of a good Tennessee road and this one didn’t disappoint! As far as the host go, Robert and Dawn were WONDERFUL PEOPLE! We could have talked to them forever! They were at the property when we arrived cleaning from the tenants that were previously there. We talked to them at length! Great people they are!

We had a lovely (but short!) stay here in Townsend. We got a little turned around but host had directions for us in case google maps failed :) The roads leading in and out were pretty narrow, so glad we did not meet any cars going the other way. Wish we would have had the time to do more, but would recommend to anyone traveling this way. Great price for 3 br 2 ba house, very comfortable and we loved the quiet and woodsy area.

The property was great but we had a hard time getting into the property initially. We weren’t given a code to get into the property until I called the owners. The number they had listed didn’t work so after an hour of googling their names and finding more numbers I finally got ahold of them and got the code. I’d highly recommend making contact with anyone via phone call before they get there. After 11 hours of driving the last thing I wanted to do was worry about getting into a cabin that I paid a lot of money to stay at. Also the description was a bit off. I’d definitely put in that the hill down to the cabin is very steep and if it’s raining or snowing good luck if you don’t have four wheel drive. Their office location listed is also just a shed at the top of the hill so getting in contact with them again was almost impossible without doing a lot of research to find the number that worked. Overall satisfied, with the cabin but the check in really ruined the experience for us.

Overall we had a nice weekend at this clean & quiet cabin! The directions were a little tricky- the road we actually needed to turn left on looked like someone's private driveway to us. So we ended up going back and forth before we realized it was a road. Cabin was clean with plenty of space & comfy furniture! Kitchen seemed stocked but we didn't cook much. Plan to bring oil and whatever else for cooking- this was the first home rental we have stayed in that didn't have pan spray or any oil or anything like that. Wish we would have had a heads up about the driveway and parking area, to us flat landers it is steep! And watch out for trees, my husband backed into a small one and busted a tail light on his truck. We are not used to parking on inclines. Overall a nice cabin and we loved how close it is to Cades Cove. And dog friendly!!

Robert and Dawn Bailes' cabin in the woods was a perfect quick getaway for us, less than a day's drive from home. It was clean and cozy with more space than I expected. The master bedroom on the first floor was ideal for our elderly Labrador who enjoyed a break from the stairs at home. The kitchen was well stocked, possibly better than anticipated as there was no cabinet space for the food we brought. We're the type of travelers who really don't go out to eat (we have a dog with us and we won't leave her alone in unfamiliar surroundings) but just enjoy the quiet of the remote woodland setting that's so beneficial for clearing our heads. Directions for finding the cabin were perfect. The internet/WIFI connections were sufficient for the two of us. Unfortunately it rained almost the entire time (three of the four days) but we were able to make a quick trip to the National Park when the weather cleared. We never saw any bears nor recent signs of bear activity but I always carried a bright flashlight when providing a bedtime walk for my dog. We had a relaxing stay. Thank you.

We have stayed in this cabin at least 3 times and will most likely be back again. We usually stay in this cabin on our Winter visits in January. It is cozy and comfy and well stocked with everything we need to get us through the week. The master bedroom has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a rental. In the woods, beautiful and so peaceful. I was so happy this was a dog friendly cabin. It was well stocked, had two friends stay one night upstairs there is a bed in the loft and an enclosed bedroom. Was decorated very nice. Close to Townsend, we ate at The Dancing Bear and Trailhead Steak and Trout, both were wonderful. The hosts were very nice, texted to make sure everything was good. My favorite part was reading and relaxing on the back deck and the front porch! Their internet is very fast, had no problems getting any games! I would definitely stay again!

The cabin was perfect. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. We loved the location of the secluded cabin. We like to visit the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the spring for our best chance of seeing bears in Cades Cove and elk in the Cataloochee Valley. We were not disappointed. This year we saw 39 bears (included 3 sets of triplets ranging from very young to yearlings; and a herd of elk.
